Investigation, grasping and research of public opinion is a very important task.

According to the report of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee always emphasizes the requirements for strengthening leadership, direction and management of the work of grasping, investigating and researching public opinion; raising awareness of Party committees at all levels, Party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations about the role, position and importance of public opinion research in the new situation, identifying this as a very important and necessary task and the responsibility of all cadres, Party members and people.

Many Party committees have made efforts to find diverse solutions and forms of grasping public opinion, gradually improving the quality of public opinion information, effectively serving leadership and management work. The city has implemented solutions to improve the quality of public opinion meetings, from organizing monthly meetings at a location to weekly meetings, rotating in localities and units combined with visits to key economic , cultural and social projects to help public opinion collaborators at all levels directly perceive, grasp, and effectively support the work of orienting public opinion.

Comrade Lai Xuan Mon, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, spoke at the meeting.

In addition, to obtain diverse information and collect opinions from different sectors and industries, the Propaganda Department at all levels advises and organizes specialized meetings in each sector (workers, youth, intellectuals, women, retirees, small traders, health workers, etc.) or seminars and specialized conferences to find innovative solutions and improve the quality of public opinion work; improve the quality of reporting activities, and propose many timely and effective solutions for the management and administration at all levels.

After 10 years of implementing Conclusion No. 100-KL/TW, Ho Chi Minh City has seen the emergence of a number of good and effective models and practices such as: Group of solutions and models to promote the role, responsibility and effectiveness of social opinion collaborators at all levels; group of solutions and models to improve the quality of social opinion conferences; group of solutions and models related to coordination with agencies, departments and branches; group of solutions related to promoting the application of information technology in capturing and conducting surveys and polls of social opinion.

Speaking at the survey, Comrade Lai Xuan Mon, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, highly appreciated the work of investigating, grasping and researching public opinion in Ho Chi Minh City over the past 10 years.

He commented that the opinions expressed at the working session were to the point, profound, comprehensive, introducing many new ways of doing things and good models, from which lessons were drawn for the Central Committee.

After 10 years of implementing Conclusion No. 100-KL/TW, the awareness of Party committees and political systems in Ho Chi Minh City about this work has become deeper and more responsible, thereby thoroughly implementing the Conclusion continuously, achieving many results.

Comrade Lai Xuan Mon emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City is the leading city in the country in investigating, capturing, and researching public opinion with very scientific, objective, and practical investigation methods, synthesis methods, and processing methods, applying technology to the investigation, capturing, and researching public opinion.

Comrade Lai Xuan Mon said that the results of the survey will be the basis for the Central Propaganda Department to advise the Secretariat to issue new documents to lead and organize the implementation of social opinion research work in the new situation.
