(NLDO) - The world gold price today increased both in the morning and afternoon sessions, while the price of SJC gold bars and gold rings remained "unmoving".

At the end of February 17, the price of SJC gold bars was listed by SJC, PNJ, and DOJI companies at 87.6 million VND/tael for buying and 90.6 million VND/tael for selling - stable compared to the morning after increasing 300,000 VND/tael compared to the end of yesterday.

Similarly, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold also "remained unchanged" when listed businesses bought at 87.6 million VND/tael and sold at 90.4 million VND/tael.

The difference between buying and selling prices continues to be maintained by businesses at a high level, around 300,000 VND/tael. With this difference, even though the domestic gold price fluctuates by millions of VND every day, investors will hardly have the opportunity to "surf".

The price of SJC gold bars and gold rings today are both "unmoving"

Nearly 2 weeks ago, Mr. Khanh Hai (residing in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) said he sold 3 taels of SJC gold bars at the buying price of businesses at that time of about 88 million VND/tael (selling price in the afternoon of 90 million VND/tael). He expected that the gold price usually decreases on God of Wealth Day and after this occasion, he will buy again to "surf".

"For nearly 2 weeks now, the price of SJC gold bars has been fluctuating rapidly according to the world price. At times, the fluctuation range was up to 1-1.5 million VND/tael, but the selling price was often above 90 million VND/tael, while the buying price of businesses was only about 87-88 million VND. I still cannot buy gold bars again because if I buy, I will lose money compared to the previous selling price," Mr. Hai wondered.

Some gold experts say that with the difference in buying and selling prices of 99.99 gold bars and gold rings often kept at 2-3 million VND/tael, investors will not be able to "surf" to make a profit.

Gold prices are becoming more and more unpredictable. In today's trading session on the international market, after a sharp decline at the end of the week, analysts predict that gold prices will continue to fall, possibly to the $2,800/ounce range after a period of rapid increase.

However, the price of gold continued to increase, at times exceeding 2,900 USD/ounce. Tonight, Vietnam time, the price of the precious metal was traded at 2,899 USD/ounce, up nearly ten USD/ounce compared to the morning session.

In total, the price of gold has recovered more than 20 USD/ounce compared to the plunge last weekend. Thus, the price of this precious metal continued to increase on February 17 in the international market, contrary to the stability of the domestic gold price.

Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 89.6 million VND/tael.
