According to the report, as of August 31, Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone had attracted 37 investment projects with a total registered capital of VND643.9 billion, of which the realized capital was estimated at VND319.1 billion (49.6% of the total capital). Total import-export turnover reached 155 million USD, of which imports were 92 million USD and exports were 63 million USD. The number of vehicles entering and exiting the country reached 15,829, an increase of 31.5% over the same period in 2024; passengers reached 99,980, an increase of 9.4%.

At the conference, many businesses reported difficulties in cross-border transportation activities. Currently, Vietnamese vehicles wishing to enter Cambodian territory must have a CLV intermodal transport license or a bilateral license, but the quota has run out, causing congestion in the logistics chain.

Although the Vietnam Road Administration has repeatedly proposed to increase the quota with the Cambodian side, there has been no agreement yet. The enterprise proposed that Gia Lai province support working with the Ratanakiri provincial government (Cambodia) to allow vehicles from both countries to cross during the day according to Decree 112/2014/ND-CP.

Some opinions also pointed out the inadequacies in the operating hours of the border gate when the Vietnamese side has extended working hours from 7:00 to 20:00, while the Oyadav border gate (Cambodia) only operates until 17:30, causing delays and increasing logistics costs.

In addition, businesses recommended improving customs procedures, limiting physical inspection of transit fruit goods to avoid damage; removing difficulties in the circulation of right-hand drive vehicles and regulating the gathering of goods.

Concluding the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that Gia Lai is steadfast in its motto of accompanying businesses, strongly shifting from the mindset of "control" to "service and innovation", taking people and businesses as the center, considering them as "customers" of administrative agencies; prioritizing administrative reform, creating an open investment environment.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan said Gia Lai aims to develop border trade, connecting Le Thanh International Border Gate with the airport and seaport in the East of the province, striving to bring import-export turnover through the border gate to 2-3 billion USD by 2030.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested departments and branches to focus on administrative reform, creating the best conditions for businesses, especially those operating in import-export activities at the Le Thanh International Border Gate Economic Zone; Urgently review all recommendations of businesses to propose solutions and ways to remove difficulties in the shortest time. Focus on orienting the development of Le Thanh International Border Gate, including planning Le Thanh International Border Gate in the direction of maximum expectation.
