Diversified activities to care for workers

In line with the spirit of "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" and the motto "all union members and workers have Tet", during the 2025 Lunar New Year, activities to care for union members and workers were organized with a total cost of more than 8,078 billion VND.

More than 12 million workers benefited

According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), reports from localities and units show that during the Lunar New Year 2025, over 12 million union members and workers benefited from the care activities of the Trade Union organization, with a total budget of more than VND 8,078 billion. Of which, the Trade Union's financial source was VND 4,034 billion; calling for social support to support the funding source to care for union members and workers was VND 4,044 billion. At the central level, the VGCL spent VND 282 billion; the provincial, municipal, industry and equivalent levels spent VND 376 billion; the direct superior level spent VND 1,051 billion; the grassroots level spent VND 2,321 billion.

Sharing this issue, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh said that the priority care subjects are union members, workers in especially difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses, natural disasters, storms and floods, union members, workers who are unemployed and unemployed... In addition, the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" is organized in a joyful and exciting atmosphere to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025). Depending on the situation at the grassroots level, the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" is associated with the program "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" to serve the needs of union members and workers to both enjoy Spring, celebrate Tet, and shop for Tet.

Along with that, cultural and artistic activities, visits, folk games, cooking competitions, flower arrangements, Tet decorations, free health consultations, free legal consultations, gift giving, train and bus tickets, giving "Union Shelter" houses... to union members and workers also took place enthusiastically.

In particular, before the Lunar New Year 2025, the activities of visiting and giving gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances continued to receive attention from the leaders of the Party, the State, ministries, branches, National Assembly Committees, and localities. In particular, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor coordinated to serve over 200 delegations of Party and State leaders, ministries, branches, National Assembly Committees, and National Assembly delegations in 63/63 provinces and cities with over 28,000 union members and workers with a budget of over 37 billion VND.

Organized 20,511 programs "Tet Sum Vay - Spring of gratitude to the Party"

Also during the 2025 Lunar New Year, Trade Unions at all levels organized 20,511 "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" programs, attracting over 5 million union members and workers to participate; more than 2.5 million union members and workers received gifts at the program. In particular, a number of local Labor Federations organized the "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Dang" program in combination with the organization of "Trade Union Tet Market", discount booths, 0 VND booths and cultural, artistic, sports activities, lucky draws...

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized the program "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" online via the website: chotet.congdoan.vn and the application "Trade Union Tet Market". At the program, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor gave 205,000 vouchers to union members and employees worth 500,000 VND/voucher with a total support value of 102.5 billion VND. Thanks to that, more than 3,000 quality products with discounts of 10-70% were sold at the program. In addition, businesses also reduced all transportation costs for union members and employees with a value of over 15 billion VND.

The program "Trade Union Tet Market 2025" was directly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in Hai Phong City from January 11 to 17, 2025, with a scale of over 200 booths with nearly 200 enterprises and units, attracting over 40,000 union members and workers to participate. Trade Unions at all levels have also actively implemented support for buying train, bus and plane tickets for union members and workers who are still in difficulty to return home for Tet. Accordingly, Trade Unions at all levels have organized bus, train and flight trips to bring over 280,295 union members, workers and their relatives home for Tet, with a total amount of over 222 billion VND.

At the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level, the "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2025" was also organized with 2 flights, bringing 450 union members and workers in southern provinces and cities back to their hometowns in southern provinces and cities to celebrate Tet.

According to Mr. Phan Van Anh, the activities to take care of the Lunar New Year 2025 were effectively implemented by the Trade Unions at all levels, ensuring compliance with the direction of the Secretariat in Directive No. 40-CT/TW dated December 11, 2024 on organizing the Lunar New Year 2025 and the motto "All union members and workers have Tet", ensuring practicality, effectiveness and increasing innovation.

“To achieve the above results, the Trade Union organization has always received the attention of the Party and State leaders, the coordination of the Central Committees, ministries, branches, and organizations, Party committees and authorities at all levels, the active support and companionship of the business community, organizations, individuals, and the positive, proactive, and constantly innovative spirit of the Trade Union at all levels in organizing activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025. Thereby, helping millions of union members and workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, to be cared for and supported promptly during the Tet holiday. From there, contributing to the good implementation of social security policies, stabilizing the labor relations situation in general, and during the Tet holiday in particular" - Mr. Phan Van Anh shared.
