
According to the report, the total coffee area in Muong Ang district is currently 2,193.5 hectares, of which the basic construction area is 105.1 hectares, the harvested area is 2,088.4 hectares. The average fresh fruit yield is 8-13 tons/ha/year (estimated to reach more than 16 tons of fresh fruit/ha in 2023). In the district, there is currently 01 large-scale purchasing and processing facility (Viet Bac Coffee Import-Export Company Limited) with a capacity of 150-250 tons of fresh coffee per day; in addition, there are other processing facilities and a number of household production and business establishments.

Regarding coffee product processing: In the area, there are a number of roasted and ground coffee processing facilities: Hai An Co., Ltd.; Ha Chung Coffee Processing Facility; Manh Hung Coffee Household; Women's Coffee Association. Muong Ang currently has 3 coffee products certified as 3-star OCOP products: SMILE SINGLE BAR COFFEE dipping bag coffee; MOM BLACK COFFEE DRIP BAG black coffee; Muong Ang - Dien Bien Arabica filter coffee; there is 01 coffee product certified as 4-star OCOP product: Ha Chung ground coffee (filter powder). However, currently, some areas of coffee trees are old, low yield and quality; it has reached the replanting stage, families still face many difficulties, do not have enough resources for replanting, and there are no specific policies and capital sources to support replanting and renovating coffee gardens. Coffee trees have not been actively irrigated. Preservation and processing work still has many limitations, especially deep processing is still small-scale, not fully promoting the value of coffee.

Voters of Muong Ang district hope that in the coming time, the Provincial People's Council will consider and resolve recommendations related to the following issues: Sustainable development of coffee trees in Muong Ang district, especially support for people to replant coffee trees, such as: Support for new, more suitable seedlings, training on technical processes in replanting coffee trees; surveying households in need of replanting to carry out appropriate renovation and replanting; surveying coffee growing areas in Tat He village, Ang Nua commune; considering building an irrigation system for coffee trees before replanting; representative of Viet Bac Coffee Import Export Company Limited proposed to support additional area for factory construction...
Based on the opinions of voters and provincial People's Council delegates, Muong Ang district leaders received, discussed and clarified the opinions, recommendations and issues of concern to voters according to their functions and authority. At the same time, they recorded and compiled a number of opinions and recommendations of voters to forward to competent authorities for consideration and response to voters in the coming time.
