Promoting linkage and cooperation in tourism development between the extended Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City

On September 20, 2025, at the Dien Bien Phu Cultural and Tourism Exchange Center, the Steering Committee of the tourism development cooperation group of the extended Northwest provinces (Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang) and Ho Chi Minh City organized the Conference on Promoting, advertising and developing tourism in the Northwest - Ho Chi Minh City, 2025.

At the Conference, delegates listened to the provinces present their speeches introducing the potential, typical tourism products and cooperation and linkage in tourism development of the extended Northwest provinces, including: "Experience and solutions to promote the development of green tourism products, sustainable tourism in Son La and recommendations to the extended Northwest provinces"; " Lai Chau promotes the exploitation of typical tourism products - connecting with tourism products of the extended Northwest provinces, creating a unique mark"; "Solutions to develop typical tourism products, with advantages of Tuyen Quang province in linking and building products with the extended Northwest provinces in the period 2026 - 2030"; The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Tho province presented a speech " Promoting the role of Tourism Associations of provinces and cities in implementing cooperation and linkage activities to develop Northwest tourism"; The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province presented a paper on " Solutions to promote linkage and cooperation in tourism development between the extended Northwestern provinces and Ho Chi Minh City with Yunnan province, China"; The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province presented a paper on " Solutions to promote linkage and cooperation in tourism development between the extended Northwestern provinces with the provinces of Northern Laos and Northern Thailand".
