(CLO) On January 6, Voice of Vietnam (VOV) held a conference to review professional work and Party work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025 in both in-person and online formats.
In his summary report at the conference, VOV Deputy General Director Tran Minh Hung said that in 2024, the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) will continue to demonstrate its role as one of the leading key press agencies of the Party and State. The Radio's press types have complied with information discipline, coordinated smoothly, shared and disseminated accurate, timely and vivid information on political , economic, social, defense, security and international situations on the media.
VOV General Director Do Tien Sy and Deputy General Directors chaired the summary conference.
Press products have contributed to creating positive effects in public opinion, creating an atmosphere of excitement, solidarity and unanimity among the entire Party, people and army, successfully implementing the goals and tasks of 2024.
VOV has also presided over the production and broadcasting of many large-scale, elaborately invested, in-depth programs of national and international significance, clearly demonstrating its leading role in the country's radio industry and affirming its role as the country's key press agency.
In 2024, the editorial units of VTV will continue to focus on innovating and improving the quality of professional activities in all types of radio, television, print and electronic newspapers. According to statistics, at least 160 units of the station have been awarded journalism awards at different levels.

Of which, 6 international awards of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and the Russian Pushkin International Competition; 3 National Press Awards; 3 Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards for the 8th time; 5 Dien Hong Awards and 4 Foreign Information Awards. Units and individuals of the Station also received many awards and certificates of merit from the Central Government and ministries, branches and localities.
In 2025, VOV determined to focus on drastic and synchronous measures to put the new organizational apparatus into effective and efficient operation in accordance with the approved Project to implement Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW at VOV and the Government 's Decree stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of VOV.
Focus on completing regulations and rules; reorganizing the organization, apparatus, and personnel in conjunction with streamlining the payroll according to the roadmap; resolving policies for employees affected by the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW in accordance with regulations and instructions of competent authorities...
On November 5, 2024, the Deputy Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1331/QD-TTg on awarding the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to the Party Committee of the News Department (VOV1), Voice of Vietnam for its outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of VOV Do Tien Sy, authorized to present the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit, Deputy Secretary of the VOV Party Committee Nguyen Van Chi, presented flowers to congratulate the representative of VOV1.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Do Tien Sy - Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) said that according to the plan, from now until January 15, VOV needs to complete the regulations on the functional structure and tasks for each unit after restructuring. Therefore, there are new and unclear issues that need to be discussed more, find solutions, work day and night, especially focusing on completing the contents related to the termination of operations of VOV TV and VTC.
In addition to the reorganization and restructuring of the apparatus, the General Director of VOV said that in the coming time, it will have to streamline about 20% of the total number of employees, which is a huge pressure. VOV Deputy General Director Pham Manh Hung awarded the Emulation Flag of the Voice of Vietnam to department-level collectives that excellently and comprehensively completed their tasks, leading the 2024 emulation movement of the 2024 emulation clusters.
On this occasion, VOV leaders awarded certificates of merit and emulation flags to units with outstanding achievements in 2024 and launched the 2025 emulation movement throughout the station.
