Dak Lak proposes 420 billion VND to build a boarding school in a border commune

Dak Lak Department of Education and Training proposed to build a new primary and secondary boarding school in 4 border communes, each commune, with a total investment of 420 billion VND.

On August 3, according to information from the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, this department has just organized The working group surveyed the actual construction site of a primary and secondary boarding school in four border communes: Buon Don (former Buon Don district) and Ia Lop, Ia Rve, Ea Bung (all in former Ea Sup district).

In the above communes, the working group worked with local authorities to grasp the population situation, the number of children and students at all levels; the current status of classroom facilities and auxiliary works of primary and secondary schools in the area; proposed the form and location of construction of inter-primary and secondary boarding schools...

Previously, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training proposed to the Provincial People's Committee to invest in building a primary and secondary boarding school in border communes as required by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training said that after the province's arrangement and merger, Dak Lak has 102 communes and wards; including 4 border communes: Buon Don, Ia Lop, Ia Rve and Ea Bung, with 73 km of border adjacent to Mondulkiri province (Cambodia).

In these 4 communes, there are no high schools, no boarding schools, no semi-boarding schools, while the demand for boarding schools of students is very large. Therefore, the investment in building inter-level primary and secondary boarding schools in the above communes is very necessary.

Dak Lak Department of Education and Training proposed to build a new primary and secondary boarding school in each border commune. These 4 schools have a total number of 4,000 students, a total construction area of ​​160,000 ^m2 , and a total investment of 420 billion VND (105 billion VND/school).

According to the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, regarding the arrangement of teachers for these schools, the current number of teachers teaching in border communes basically meets over 80% of the prescribed standards. However, in some subjects, there is a local surplus or shortage among schools.

After the inter-level boarding school is built, the Department of Education and Training will advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct communes to transfer students and teachers from local schools to the new school and supplement the teacher staffing quota to ensure enough teachers to teach according to regulations.

Also according to the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training, in the above 4 border communes, there are 13 primary and secondary schools. Of which, there are 7 primary schools, 6 secondary schools; total 4,387 students. The current state of school facilities in the border communes is degraded, lacking functional rooms, not meeting the requirements for teaching according to the 2018 General Education Program.
