(Baoquangngai.vn) - The Provincial People's Committee held a meeting of the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council to evaluate and classify OCOP products with the potential to achieve 4 and 5 stars.
The meeting took place on the morning of December 25, chaired by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien, Chairman of the Provincial OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council (Council).
At the meeting, the Council members evaluated and classified 5 OCOP products with the potential to achieve 4.5 stars, of 5 entities in districts and cities, including: Quang Ngai City, Ly Son, Ba To, Binh Son.

Among the 5 products participating in the evaluation and classification, there are 2 products proposed to be upgraded from 4 stars to a potential 5-star product, 1 product to be upgraded from 3 stars to 4 stars, and 2 new products proposed to have potential 4 stars.
Through evaluation, there are 2 potential 5-star products, the Council will advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Central Council for consideration and recognition of 5-star OCOP products, including: Quang Ngai malt with Mantoza sugar of Quang Ngai Malt Factory - Branch of Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company; Ly Son garlic of Phu Sinh Trading and Service Company Limited, in Tay An Vinh village (Ly Son).
There are 3 products that meet the requirements in terms of documents, standards and quality to be submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and recognition as 4-star OCOP products at the provincial level, including: Y Hoa brocade handbags of Pham Thi Y Hoa Business Household, in Lang Teng village, Ba Thanh commune (Ba To); Muoi Quy special fish sauce of Muoi Quy Production, Trade and Service Company Limited, in Vinh Tra village, Binh Thanh commune (Binh Son); Ly Son garlic soaked in honey of Dori Joint Stock Company, in Tay An Vinh village (Ly Son).

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien said that after 6 years of implementing the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program, it has really created positive changes, contributing to the economic development of rural areas and the construction of new rural areas.
Up to now, Quang Ngai has 213 3-star and 4-star OCOP products. Of which, there are 17 4-star OCOP products and 196 3-star OCOP products. All districts, towns and cities have OCOP products. 130/213 OCOP products are on e-commerce trading floors, 13 points of introduction and sale of OCOP products.
