On December 16, in Can Tho City, the Central Propaganda Department held a "National conference to review the work of advising Party committees on politics , ideology, ethics and propaganda fields in 2024, and deploy tasks in 2025".
Member of the Politburo , Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu attended and directed the conference.
Also attending were Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Party Central Committee's Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia and leaders of departments, ministries, branches, provincial and municipal Party Committees.
At the conference, delegates exchanged, discussed and agreed on the following: In 2024, the entire propaganda sector was proactive, innovative, creative, focused on advising and assisting the Central Executive Committee, directly and regularly the Politburo, the Central Party Secretariat, and Party committees at all levels to strengthen leadership and effectively direct the implementation of Party building work in politics, ideology, ethics and propaganda fields, achieving outstanding results.
Key tasks of the propaganda sector in 2025
Speaking at the conference, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu emphasized that 2025 is the year when the entire Party, people and army are determined, make efforts and creatively break through to complete and surpass the goals of the 13th National Party Congress; the year to start organizing Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress; the year to resolutely and effectively implement the revolution of streamlining the organizational apparatus and political system; the year of premise for the country to enter a new era.
"The propaganda sector closely follows the leadership and direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat and the Party Committee, strongly innovates thinking and methods, well performs the assigned tasks, and focuses on major contents," comrade Tran Cam Tu acknowledged.
Firstly, the whole industry focuses on advising Party committees at all levels to lead and direct the good implementation of political and ideological work; propaganda work, orienting public opinion, creating high unity within the Party and the entire political system, and consensus among the people on policies, goals, requirements, and tasks of streamlining the political system's apparatus.
Second, direct and orient information and propaganda regularly, continuously and effectively, creating a broad political movement to successfully organize Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Party Congress.
Third, preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, promptly advise the Politburo, the Secretariat and Party committees at all levels to organize extensive political activities throughout the Party, from Party cells to the Central Committee, on basic viewpoints, contents and strategic orientations for the new era, the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.
Fourth, advise the Politburo, the Secretariat and Party committees at all levels to effectively lead and direct the fields of culture, arts, science, technology, education , social security, etc. to care for and improve the material, cultural and spiritual life of the people, especially in remote areas and ethnic minority areas.
Fifth, build a team of propaganda cadres who are united, creative, and wholeheartedly devoted to serving the Fatherland and the people; further promote the role of the Central Steering Committee 35 in building a team of combative writers who are sharp in theory and have a deep understanding of practice, with many articles of high fighting and educational value.
"Screen out and remove from work those who are not qualified"
Speaking at the conference, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia requested the propaganda sector to closely follow the leadership and direction of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, Party committees at all levels, General Secretary To Lam in the working session with the Central Propaganda Department, and Standing Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu at the conference, as well as the main tasks and solutions set out, to urgently develop specific and scientific work programs and plans and implement them actively, resolutely and creatively from the beginning of 2025.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that the secretaries and standing members of provincial and municipal Party Committees pay attention to leading and directing the work of Party building in terms of politics, ideology, and ethics in conjunction with organizational and personnel work; clearly identifying that the work of Party building in terms of politics, ideology, and ethics plays a very important role in the work of building and rectifying a clean and strong Party and political system, and improving the Party's leadership and governing capacity.
At the same time, highly focus on directing propaganda work, orienting public opinion, creating high unity within the Party and the entire political system, consensus among the people on the policies, requirements, and major and urgent tasks of the Party and State in 2025, especially the revolution in arranging and organizing the apparatus to be "lean, compact, strong, operating effectively and efficiently"...
Advise on organizing a broad political activity within the entire Party on basic viewpoints, contents, and strategic orientations for the new era, the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise, especially the issue of improving the Party's leadership methods, removing institutional bottlenecks, promoting digital transformation, resolutely and persistently fighting against corruption, waste, and negativity...
The Head of the Central Propaganda Department proposed to urgently complete, arrange, and merge the organizational apparatus of the Mass Mobilization Committee and the Propaganda Department, determine the name, develop functions, tasks, and working regulations to submit to the Politburo and Party Committees for decision to implement resolutely and effectively from the beginning of 2025.
“Symbolically streamline the apparatus organization in conjunction with training, fostering, and restructuring the staff with sufficient qualities and capacity to meet the tasks; have an effective mechanism to screen and remove from work those who do not have the qualities, capacity, and prestige; have policies to attract and use those with outstanding abilities. At the same time, well implement the regime and policies for cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers affected by the rearrangement of the organization and apparatus,” said comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia.
