TPO – The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just sent a document to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requesting consideration of including the art of Lion-Unicorn-Dragon dance in Ho Chi Minh City into the list of national intangible cultural heritage.
Previously, the city leaders also directed the Department of Culture and Sports to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Lion-Unicorn-Dragon Federation and related units to carry out inventory work and establish scientific records of the Lion-Unicorn-Dragon dance art in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to scientific records established by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, the art of Lion-Unicorn-Dragon dance was brought to the Southern region by the Chinese and has been preserved and developed, contributing to enriching the diverse cultural identity of the city.
