When and where is the Golden Ball award ceremony held?

The Golden Ball award ceremony will take place at 1am on September 23 (Vietnam time) at the Theatre du Chatelet, located in Chatelet Square, Paris (France). This is one of the iconic landmarks of the capital Paris, where many cultural and sporting events of international stature have been held.

The Golden Ball Award is a prestigious award initiated and maintained by France Football since 1956. Up to now, this is still one of the most prestigious awards in football.

The voting system is based on three factors: Individual performance, team performance and career. A panel of 100 sports journalists voted for the men's award and 50 voted for the women's award, with the top 10 nominees for each category.

Each position in the top 10 will receive a certain number of points, corresponding to the ranking: 15 points for first place, 12 points for second place, 10 points for third place and decreasing to 1 point for 10th place.

The biggest change to the 2025 award is the balance of trophies between figures in men's and women's football.

Strong candidates for the men's Golden Ball award

During the 69th Ballon d'Or awards ceremony tonight, France magazine will present the following awards:

Among them, the Men's Golden Ball award received special attention and was also the focus of the Gala Awards night.

The 30 candidates nominated for the Ballon d'Or include: Jude Bellingham (England, Real Madrid), Ousmane Dembélé (France, Paris Saint-Germain), Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy, PSG/Man City), Désiré Doué (France, Paris Saint-Germain), Denzel Dumfries (Netherlands, Inter), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea, Borussia Dortmund), Viktor Gyökeres (Sweden, Sporting CP/Arsenal), Erling Haaland (Norway, Manchester City), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco, Paris Saint-Germain), Harry Kane (England, Bayern), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Georgia, Napoli/PSG), Robert Lewandowski (Poland, Barcelona), Alexis Mac Allister (Argentina, Liverpool), Lautaro Martínez (Argentina, Inter), Kylian Mbappé (France, Real Madrid), Scott McTominay (Scotland, Napoli), Nuno Mendes (Portugal, Paris Saint-Germain). Saint-Germain), João Neves (Portugal, Paris Saint-Germain), Michael Olise (France, Bayern), Cole Palmer (England, Chelsea), Pedri (Spain, Barcelona), Raphinha (Brazil, Barcelona), Declan Rice (England, Arsenal), Fabián Ruiz (Spain, Paris Saint-Germain), Mohamed Salah (Egypt, Liverpool), Virgil van Dijk (Netherlands, Liverpool), Vinícius Júnior (Brazil, Real Madrid), Vitinha (Portugal, Paris Saint-Germain), Florian Wirtz (Germany, Leverkusen/Liverpool), Lamine Yamal (Spain, Barcelona).

The two most prominent candidates for this year's award are Ousmane Dembele (PSG) and Lamine Yamal (Barcelona).

Dembele had an explosive season when he scored 35 goals, created 16 goals after 53 appearances for PSG. The French striker played an important role in helping PSG win 5 titles: Champions League, Ligue 1, National Cup, French Super Cup, European Super Cup.

Yamal plays an extremely important role in Barcelona. Many people believe that his influence is no less than Messi's in his prime. Last season, the 18-year-old striker scored 18 goals and made 25 assists in 55 matches. He contributed to Barcelona winning 3 domestic cups: La Liga, Copa del Rey, Spanish Super Cup. Along with that, Yamal also won the runner-up position in the Nations League with the Spanish team.

Although he cannot be compared with Dembele in terms of collective titles, in terms of personal influence, Yamal is somewhat better than his senior.

Unfortunately, Dembele and many other PSG players are unlikely to attend the Golden Ball award ceremony because they are busy playing in the Ligue 1 match between PSG and Marseille. In case Dembele receives the award, his representative will receive it on his behalf.

Ronaldinho, who played for both Barcelona and PSG, will be the one to present the Ballon d'Or. That seems to be the revelation of France Football regarding the winner of the award. At this point, the chances are still divided equally between Dembele and Yamal. This makes fans nervous until the last minute.
