In recent days, many young people and tourists have flocked to the steep road in Nhon Hai commune (Quy Nhon city) to film and take photos, even when traffic is heavy, causing traffic insecurity.
The trend of young people taking to the streets to take photos is a new one that is spreading on social networks.
This trend started with young people flocking to "Dai Ly" slope in China to take photos, then quickly spread to Vietnam, especially in localities such as Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Da Lat City (Lam Dong).
On social media, a series of photos were shared by young people, some even standing and sitting in the middle of the road ignoring the passing vehicles. This made many people worried.
On Facebook, Luong Hoang Anh commented: "The slope of this road is quite steep. Young people are so engrossed in taking photos and posing that they don't pay attention to their surroundings, which can easily lead to accidents. Vehicles going down the slope don't have time to react to unexpected situations. I think there should be a sign warning against taking photos in this area."
Young people were invited by Nhon Hai Commune Police to write a commitment - Photo: B.D.
On the afternoon of February 17, Mr. Ngo Quang Hoang - Vice Chairman of Nhon Hai Commune People's Committee - said that on February 16, the Commune Police invited a group of young people who took photos and checked in on the slope in Nhon Hai Commune, causing traffic insecurity. The group of visitors later wrote a commitment not to repeat this behavior.
According to Mr. Hoang, it is very dangerous for people and tourists to spill out onto the slope to take pictures, because this is a road with a fairly steep slope and a very large traffic volume.
"There have been traffic accidents at this slope, which are very dangerous. To rectify this situation, the locality has directed the police and public order forces to increase patrols and remind young people and tourists," said Mr. Hoang.
