Dong Cao Plateau is likened to a "sloping field" with a cool climate all year round in Bac Giang.
Located about 150km from Hanoi , Dong Cao plateau (in Thach Son commune, Son Dong district, Bac Giang province) has become an attractive destination for tourists in recent years thanks to its green landscape, diverse terrain, convenient for picnics and entertainment. According to local people, Dong Cao has many large grasslands, stretching one after another, interspersed with high mountains with large, undulating rocks of strange shapes. In the distance are vast green forests. 
According to the experience of many tourists, Dong Cao is one of the rare destinations suitable for visiting in all four seasons. However, the most ideal time is late autumn, early winter, from September to December. At that time, the weather is dry, cool or slightly chilly, suitable for activities such as setting up tents, making campfires or having outdoor barbecues. 
Camping overnight with friends in Dong Cao plateau in September, Mr. Hoang Minh Duc (from Hanoi, freelance photographer) was impressed by the open, airy, green and quiet space here. “A good enough place to enjoy the atmosphere. As long as it doesn’t rain, visitors to Dong Cao at any time will have a fun experience,” Mr. Duc commented. 
From Hanoi, Duc's group traveled about 150km to Dong Cao plateau. The road is convenient but has many steep passes, so cars and motorbikes can reach the place. To get here, visitors can travel from Hanoi to Bac Giang city, following National Highway 31 through An Chau town, Van Son commune or An Lap commune. Another option, as suggested by locals, is to go to Cam Dan bridge (Son Dong district) and turn left. 
According to Mr. Duc, there are no food and accommodation services in Dong Cao plateau, so tourists who want to stay overnight here must camp, set up tents, cook, etc. "You can prepare your own camping equipment or hire services from the locals right on the plateau and must contact them in advance so they can prepare carefully," the young photographer suggested. 
To have an enjoyable experience, visitors need to pay attention to the weather before the trip, fully prepare tents, sleeping bags, camping equipment, food and drinks, personal items... if staying overnight. In particular, do not litter or light fires and clean up everything before leaving, ensuring to preserve the environment as well as the natural landscape. 
The population around the plateau is still sparse, and tourism services have not been exploited much, so the landscape still retains its simple, wild beauty.
