Admission scores to 2 specialized schools are Literature + Math + English + (specialized subject x 2) + priority points if any.

The two specialized schools will only consider admission for candidates who are eligible to take the entrance exam, have taken all required exams, have not violated exam regulations during the entrance exam, and have a score greater than 2 on all exams.

Admission to specialized classes will be based on the scores of candidates from high to low until they meet the enrollment quota of each school for each specialized subject. Students who are admitted to a choice will study that choice. If they are not admitted to a specialized school, candidates will be considered for 3 choices to enter a regular public high school as registered.

In 2025, 5,550 10th grade students in Ho Chi Minh City will take the specialized subject exam at Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted. This is the lowest number of candidates taking the specialized exam in the past 4 years, down 2,650 students compared to last year.

Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted has 1,624 candidates registered for the exam, a ratio of 1 to 3.5. Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted has 3,926 candidates registered for the exam, a ratio of 1 to 4.9.

Compared to last year, the number of candidates taking the 10th grade specialized exam in Ho Chi Minh City decreased by 2,650 students. The reason for the decrease is that the city stopped recruiting 22 10th grade specialized classes at 4 regular public high schools such as: Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, Gia Dinh High School, Nguyen Huu Huan High School, Mac Dinh Chi High School according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Integrated 10th grade benchmark scores are as follows:

Integrated 10th grade benchmark

The integrated 10th grade admission score is the sum of the regular exam scores + integrated score.

Group 1: Students who participate in the integrated English program at the secondary school level will be selected based on their 10th grade entrance exam scores and the average score of the integrated English program. These students will be given priority in schools that teach the integrated English program.

The calculation of admission scores for the integrated English program is as follows:

Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + average score of the integrated English program (on a 10-point scale).

This program only considers candidates who are eligible to take the entrance exam, have taken all required exams, have not violated exam regulations during the entrance exam, and have not scored a zero on any exam.

Group 2: Students who do not study the integrated English program at secondary school level in Ho Chi Minh City but have registered for admission to grade 10. In addition to the three required subjects of Literature, Math, and Foreign Language, students must register and take the integrated English exam.

The calculation of admission scores for the integrated English program is as follows:

Admission score = Literature score + English score + Math score + Integrated English exam score (on a 10-point scale).
