New developments in the case of 'poor quality' boarding meals at an elementary school in Da Lat

Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested units to inspect and handle the case of a primary school in Da Lat being accused of contracting with a food supplier that did not ensure quality for boarding meals.

On September 17, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province requested the Department of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat to coordinate with relevant units to inspect and handle related issues to clarify the case of TV Primary School being accused by local people of having contracted with a food supplier that did not ensure the quality of the students' meals.

At the same time, Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat urgently reports the verification results of the above incident to the Provincial People's Committee before September 19.

Regarding the above issue, on the same day, the Department of Education and Training of the province also sent a document to the People's Committee of Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, requesting a quick report on the process of receiving and handling feedback related to boarding work at TV Primary School.

According to the Department of Education and Training, in addition to the issues reported by the press and social networks, the unit also received a collective complaint from citizens on August 11, stating that in the 2024-2025 school year, the Principal of TV Primary School signed a contract with a food supplier that did not ensure quality for the boarding kitchen.

The Department of Education and Training requested the locality to clarify the school's contract with a supplier of "dirty food" that does not ensure food hygiene and safety in the 2024-2025 school year as well as the quality of food sources serving the boarding kitchen from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year up to now; the progress of handling and the results of resolving complaints and denunciations according to authority.

Previously, VietNamNet reported that recently, social networks spread a petition accusing the principal of TV Primary School of contracting with a supplier to repeatedly bring dirty food into the boarding school kitchen.

According to the complaint, during the 2024-2025 school year, the food supplier repeatedly delivered to the school kitchen: 35kg of smelly frozen beef balls without packaging or labels; 60kg of boiled pork that was green and had a strange smell; 50kg of wet, smelly pre-sliced ​​beef; and 10kg of smelly, green pork bones.

The kitchen staff reported the unusual condition of the food to the principal and requested that it be returned or destroyed to ensure student safety. However, the school leadership did not take drastic measures, causing concern for the kitchen staff.

Regarding the above incident, the police have stepped in to verify and investigate to clarify.

Immediately after the posted images reflecting on the meager boarding meals appeared, the leaders of Hai Chau district (Da Nang) and the Department of Education immediately went down to the school to inspect .
