Investigation into the assault of an 82-year-old war invalid

(NLDO)- An 82-year-old war invalid was attacked by neighbors who came to his house to quarrel, pushed the gate open, and broke into the yard.

On December 13, Dong Hung District Police ( Thai Binh Province) said they were investigating the case of Mr. NXL (82 years old, residing in Nguyen Xa Commune, Dong Hung District, Thai Binh Province), a war invalid, who was assaulted and injured by a person in the same commune.

According to the report of Mr. NXL’s family, at about 9:00 a.m. on November 16, Mr. L. went out to the alley and discovered some scrap metal scattered on the road near the gate and next to the house. About 20 meters from the house, there was a sack of scrap metal scattered on the side of the village road.

Seeing that, Mr. L. cleaned up the iron that had fallen on the road outside the gate and put it in a scrap iron bag. Not knowing who had dropped it, he asked someone living near his house to take it.

Afterwards, Ms. Ng.TC (residing in Le Tien village, Nguyen Xa commune) came and claimed that the iron bag was hers. Thinking that Mr. L. took the iron bag to sell, Ms. C. used insulting words to Mr. L.

At noon on November 16, when he learned that Mrs. C. came to claim the sack of iron that had fallen and belonged to him, Mr. NVT returned the sack of scrap iron to Mrs. C. Mr. T. also confirmed that Mr. L. did not sell the scrap iron to him.

It seemed like the matter was resolved, but Mrs. C. and her husband, VNTh., still went to Mr. L.'s house and loudly cursed.

After that, Mr. Th. pushed the gate open and rushed into the yard to assault Mr. L. Although neighbors stopped him and pulled him out to the street, Mr. T. continued to attack Mr. L. right at the gate, causing a blood clot in his head.

Outraged by the incident, Mr. L's family then filed a report to the Nguyen Xa Commune Police.
