Located at 16 Le Thanh Ton Street (Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City), Mrs. Hue's small cake shop has become a popular place to sell vegetarian cakes on the 15th and 1st of the lunar month every month. Ms. Tran Thi Hue (50 years old), owner of the banh chay shop, expressed her excitement: "Although I have changed locations many times, people still come to buy my banh chay. They say my cakes are delicious and cheap. Up to now, I have been selling banh chay for 35 years...".
On the 15th and 1st of every lunar month, the shop becomes overloaded because people buy more vegetarian food than usual.
The shop is located near Tran Phu High School (Da Nang City), so after school hours, students come to Mrs. Hue's bakery to "recharge their batteries". Most of the customers are workers and students because the prices are quite affordable.
Banh bot loc is a rustic dish of the people of Hue.
In the vegetarian menu, there are only 2 dishes: vegetarian banh loc and vegetarian banh cuon. Banh loc has a filling of mung beans, dipped in a pre-mixed soy sauce. Banh cuon has a filling of tofu, carrots, wood ear mushrooms, herbs and chayote, thinly sliced; dipped in a smooth peanut sauce that is seasoned to taste.
Vegetarian rice rolls will be more delicious when eaten with bean sprouts and herbs.
Each cake has its own flavor, very suitable for vegetarian food lovers. In addition to the two vegetarian cakes, on normal days, Mrs. Hue's cake shop also sells vermicelli with fish sauce, banh beo, banh ram, banh it... The cakes here all have the bold flavor of Hue cuisine .

A portion of banh loc costs 15,000 VND/15 pieces.
"I feel that Mrs. Hue's vegetarian dishes are very delicious, flavorful and rich. I find that the two vegetarian cakes are affordable and very suitable for everyone's afternoon snack," said Ms. Le Thi Thanh (43 years old, residing in Hai Chau 1 Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City).
