Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City Nguyen Tuan Anh said that the city's National Assembly Delegation has created a strong voice in the parliament, honestly reflecting the thoughts and aspirations of voters nationwide in general, the Mekong Delta region and Can Tho City in particular; at the same time, taking advantage of the attention of the National Assembly, the Government, ministries and branches on important issues such as: Specific Resolution for Can Tho City, issues of regional socio -economic development, strategic infrastructure, climate change response, ensuring water security, agricultural development and improving people's lives.

In the coming time, the Delegation will always uphold its mission as a representative of the people, ensuring that the voices of voters and people are fully reflected in the parliament; at the same time, it will innovate its working methods, improve the quality of legislation, focus on substantive supervision, and decide on important issues based on scientific and practical grounds. The Delegation will regularly meet, dialogue, and promptly resolve petitions, complaints, and denunciations; promote collective intelligence and individual responsibility of delegates in discussions, debates, and questioning in the parliament...

Promoting the activities of the past term, in the coming time, the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho city determined to continue to strongly innovate and improve the quality of activities. That is to improve the quality of legislation by participating more closely in the process of building and perfecting the legal system; focusing on feasibility and practicality.

Along with that, the Delegation promoted thematic supervision, selected practical and pressing issues of social life to supervise, proposed specific and feasible solutions; contacted voters in a diverse and effective manner by continuing to promote online forms, combining digital technology, and expanding interaction channels so as not to miss out on the people's voices.

At the same time, the Delegation urges and closely monitors the implementation of recommendations after supervision; publicizes the results for voters to supervise; continues to accompany programs to care for people's lives, especially vulnerable groups. The Delegation continues to expand cooperation, learn from experiences; contribute to building the image of Can Tho as a dynamic and modern center of the Mekong Delta region.

In practice, the Can Tho City National Assembly Delegation has learned the following lessons: firmly adhere to the Party's guidelines and the State's laws; be exemplary delegates, maintain the qualities and style of people's representatives. The Delegation regularly listens to and honestly reflects opinions and aspirations, turning people's trust into motivation to strive. Each delegate is proactive, creative, united, and unified to create common efficiency; at the same time, combine supervision with field surveys, diversify channels for receiving voters' opinions, and increase transparency and responsiveness.

Over the past time, the Can Tho City National Assembly Delegation, acting as a bridge between the people and the National Assembly, has left many strong impressions on all aspects of its activities. Right from the beginning of its term, the Delegation has determined the motto of acting with intelligence, responsibility, solidarity, innovation, closely connecting with voters, and striving to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted by the people.

During its term, the Delegation organized hundreds of rounds of consultations for draft laws and resolutions. Not only stopping at collecting public opinions, the Delegation also invited experts, scientists, practitioners, businesses and citizens to participate in the debate. Thanks to that, many proposals were recorded and accepted, contributing to creating legal documents that are closer and more feasible to life.

The monitoring and survey activities carried out by the National Assembly Delegation of Can Tho City were diverse and effective; focusing on "hot" areas such as land management, education, health, environmental protection, administrative reform, social security, etc. The monitoring conclusions helped the authorities clearly identify the shortcomings, thereby finding timely solutions.

In deciding on important national issues, each delegate of the Delegation demonstrated a sense of responsibility, carefully studied documents, discussed frankly and accurately reflected the thoughts and aspirations of voters. Many opinions of high practical value were acknowledged by the National Assembly; making an important contribution to the process of formulating macro policies.

The Can Tho City National Assembly delegation has organized hundreds of meetings, received tens of thousands of opinions and recommendations; many complicated cases have been recommended for definitive resolution. The expansion of contact forms, combining direct and online meetings, hotlines and electronic information portals, has ensured that voters' voices are not interrupted, even during the COVID-19 period.

In addition, the Union also actively participates in social security work such as supporting the construction of charity houses, giving Tet gifts, granting scholarships to poor students, and mobilizing social resources to care for the disadvantaged. The Union has carried out parliamentary foreign affairs activities, welcomed many delegations from other countries to learn and exchange experiences, thereby enhancing the image and position of the city in the eyes of domestic and foreign friends.
