National innovation - The driving force for national development

On the afternoon of September 25, 2025, the Department of Innovation (Ministry of Science and Technology), the National Innovation Center (Ministry of Finance) jointly organized the Information Announcement Ceremony for the National Innovation Day 2025, which will take place from October 1 to October 3, 2025 at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park.

The event continues to affirm the determination and commitment of the Party and State in promoting innovation; affirming the strategic and central role of innovation in promoting rapid and sustainable growth, improving national productivity and competitiveness, and socio -economic development in the new era. At the same time, this is also an opportunity to honor and encourage new ideas and breakthrough innovations in all fields, contributing to the development of the innovation ecosystem.

The festival includes many key activities. The National Innovation Day celebration took place on the morning of October 1, 2025 with the participation of leaders of the Party, State, ministries, branches, localities, along with the business community, research institutes, universities, investment funds, international organizations and the media, expected to attract more than 800 delegates. At the event, the Local Innovation Index (PII 2025) will be announced along with many activities launched in response from businesses, international organizations and experts.

According to Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of the National Innovation Center, the National Innovation Day is one of the activities to concretize Resolution 57/NQ-TW of the Politburo on scientific and technological breakthroughs, innovation and digital transformation. This is not only an occasion to honor the products and achievements of innovation, but also an opportunity to exchange and connect elements in the innovation ecosystem.

Speaking at the Information Announcement Ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Mai Duong, Director of the Department of Innovation, affirmed that science , technology, and innovation are the core factors and driving forces of national development. With the theme "Innovation for all people - Driving force for national development", innovation not only comes from research labs and scientific experts but also exists in every citizen and every individual, contributing to the common strength of the whole nation.

Within the framework of the National Innovation Day, the Ministry of Science and Technology hosted the Innovation Policy Forum. The forum is an opportunity to announce outstanding mechanisms and policies on innovation that have been issued in recent times; and to introduce model models on innovation for agencies and units to refer to and apply. This is also an open dialogue space for management agencies, organizations, experts, businesses, domestic and foreign investors to exchange strategic visions, share experiences and discuss solutions to promote innovation in practice.

The 2025 International Innovation Exhibition is a major activity in response to the National Innovation Day, aiming to honor and spread the spirit of innovation and the nation's aspirations to rise up. The Exhibition is expected to attract about 40,000 visitors with the presence of hundreds of typical technology enterprises, thousands of brands, science and technology products, and innovation from enterprises, startups, institutes, and schools.

At the Vietnam Innovation International Exhibition 2025, there will be activities to display and introduce new products and technologies in 11 key sectors in Decision 1131 of the Prime Minister dated June 12, 2025. Notably, the Forum "Promoting innovation, developing strategic technology industries" is a highlight within the framework of the Vietnam Innovation International Exhibition 2025. The Forum brings together the participation of many leading technology corporations in the world such as NVIDIA, Qualcomm, Meta..., focusing on key areas including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum, cyber security, aerospace. The Forum is not only a space for knowledge sharing but also an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to directly connect with the global advanced technology network, opening up opportunities for research cooperation, technology transfer and commercialization.

Alongside the Exhibition, there will be many activities such as seminars on developing high-quality human resources and promoting STEM education. Sideline activities will take place within the framework of the event such as: Kick-off program of the 2026 National VEX Robotics Tournament and honoring individuals and groups participating in international STEM competitions; Experience electric vehicles, STEM experiences for students and the Better Choice Awards product voting program.

This year's exhibition brings together many booths from leading technology countries such as the US, Germany, France, and Japan, creating a space for international exchange, opening up opportunities for cooperation, promoting investment and developing cutting-edge technology, contributing to realizing the goal of making Vietnam a high-income country by 2045.

The National Innovation Day affirms the aspiration to rise up, the spirit of persistent creativity and the determination to accompany the prosperous development of the nation on the journey of international integration.
