According to the HCM City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor), the tree clearance in the above area is to make way for the construction of the 4km long Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa connecting road project, with a total investment of more than VND4,800 billion at the airport gateway.
Of which, Truong Chinh street from Cong Hoa to near Pham Van Bach street has 17 acacia trees and one banyan tree cut down. Cong Hoa street also has 6 trees that must be cleared for construction. These trees are of the water scorpion and mango varieties, planted on the sidewalk.

The investor said that on November 17, the clearance of the above trees will be completed. The wood after being cut down will be handed over to the Technical Infrastructure Management Center (Department of Construction) for liquidation procedures and budget payment. After the connecting road project is completed, the above area will be replanted with trees such as rosewood, Indian laurel, ironwood, etc.
Previously, to implement the tunnel project at the Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyen intersection within the scope of the connecting road project, about 1,600 m2 of Hoang Van Thu park was also cleared to make a temporary road for construction. More than 300 trees in this area were also cut down and relocated. After the project is completed, the investor will return about 700 m2 to replant trees, the rest will be used as sidewalks for pedestrians.
