Visitors can visit the newly restored French villa.

Speaking to the press on the morning of January 24, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Lan, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter, said that the restoration work of the villa at 49 Tran Hung Dao has been basically completed.

The Management Board decided to open the villa to visitors from January 26 with the first exhibition about the restoration and renovation process of the villa. In addition to the images recording the restoration process, the exhibition also introduces some artifacts such as the old wooden structure of the villa and a pair of workers' gloves.

Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Lan shared that this villa is a typical French architecture of Hanoi. The management board wants people and tourists to understand more about the typical architecture that makes up the ancient beauty of Hanoi. The images and artifacts displayed this time will help people and tourists understand more about the process that Vietnamese and French architects and experts have worked hard to restore and renovate the villa according to the old architecture.

Along with the opening and display activities to welcome visitors on the occasion of Lunar New Year, the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter is also developing plans to put this villa into effective use with more regular activities, so that this address becomes a destination for residents and tourists.

The Management Board predicts that the villa at 49 Tran Hung Dao will soon become a favorite tourist and check-in spot for many young people, similar to the Cultural Center at 22 Hang Buom after the renovation.

After about a year of major renovation with the support of French experts, the 49 Tran Hung Dao villa is about to be completed. This villa once caused a big controversy in the media about the lime color during the renovation. French experts affirmed that the villa was restored and preserved according to the original paint color. Therefore, Hoan Kiem district reserves the view of preserving the original lime color.

The opening of the villa at 49 Tran Hung Dao is part of the program series "Vietnamese Tet - Street Tet 2024" organized by the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter.

The program includes many rich activities such as: Offering ceremony at the communal house gate, erecting the flagpole, opening on the morning of January 28 at Kim Ngan communal house (Hang Bac); introducing the living space and Tet celebration of an old Hanoi family at the heritage house (87 Ma May); decorating the traditional Tet space at Kim Ngan communal house (42 Hang Bac); decorating the traditional Tet space of the Northern Delta at the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center (50 Dao Duy Tu)...
