On May 26, Mr. Truong Huu Tien - Director of the Management Board of Sam Mountain National Tourist Area, Chau Doc City - said that the People's Committee of An Giang province has approved the request to allow tourists to visit for free during the 7 days of the Via Ba Chua Xu Sam Mountain Festival in 2024.
The free period starts from 0:00 on May 28 to 0:00 on June 3, which is from April 21 to 27 of the lunar calendar.
The Ba Chua Xu Festival of Sam Mountain takes place from May 22 to June 3 in Nui Sam Ward, Chau Doc City, An Giang Province. Accompanying this is a series of events celebrating the 10th anniversary of the festival being included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage (2014 - 2024).
In 2024, the event will have 7 special ceremonies such as: The procession of the Lady's statue, the street festival, the bathing ceremony, the ceremony to invite the divine decree, the ceremony to pay respect and build the altar, the main ceremony, the ceremony to return the decree and festival events; the event will have the participation of domestic artists performing to serve the people and tourists.
On the evening of May 28, the 2024 Ba Chua Xu Mountain Sam Festival will open. The organizers will perform a light show from 300 drones. From May 29 to June 3, the main ceremony will take place with traditional rituals, along with activities to promote and introduce to the people and tourists at home and abroad the image of the land, people, scenic spots, historical relics, and typical and unique cultural heritage values of the locality.
Chau Doc City People's Committee expects the festival to welcome millions of visitors. An Giang Provincial People's Committee has also directed units, especially security forces and Chau Doc City to implement many measures and plans to ensure safety for visitors to the festival.
