Expected from April 1st, mid-term population and housing census 2024

On March 20-21, the Provincial Statistics Office organized a training conference on the 2024 mid-term population and housing census for more than 100 delegates representing leaders of departments, branches, and members of the working group directing the implementation of the mid-term population and housing census at the provincial level; leaders of the Statistical Offices of districts, towns, and cities, and supervisors at the provincial and district levels, and investigators of the Statistical Office of Dong Ha City and Gio Linh District.

During the training, delegates were introduced to the plan and options for the 2024 mid-term population and housing census, focusing on contents such as: demographics of household members; migration; education ; marriage; birth history of women aged 10-49; deaths of households; housing and living conditions of households.

In addition, investigators and supervisors are instructed on types of survey forms such as: information collection forms for foreigners residing in Vietnam, some notes in the process of collecting information, processing and using survey data; instructions on installing and using electronic survey recording software, using the survey operation website...; discussing, exchanging, and answering questions and problems that may arise in practice.

According to the plan, the investigation information collection period will start from April 1 to April 30, 2024.

The 2024 mid-term population and housing census is being implemented nationwide to collect information on population and housing, serving as a basis for assessing the implementation of the socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2025 period; developing policies and planning population and housing to serve the socio-economic development planning for the 2026-2030 period; updating the data warehouse to serve research, analysis and forecasting of population and housing development nationwide as well as in each locality.
