Preparing to end their Spring trip to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, Ms. Hanh Nguyen's family from Ho Chi Minh City said that her family took the train to Nha Trang station on the morning of the 2nd day of Tet and will return to the city on the night of the 6th.

During Tet, Ms. Nguyen's family chose to visit famous destinations in Nha Trang City, go on island tours, mud baths, Vinpearl Harbor, Do Theater... and " explore " seafood restaurants.

“Due to the long Tet holiday and the late start of school, my family chose Nha Trang for a 5-day tour. Because we booked train tickets and rooms early, prices did not increase much. This year, Nha Trang was very crowded, but there was no jostling or overcharging at entertainment and dining spots. My family was quite satisfied with this trip,” said Ms. Hanh Nguyen.

According to the reporter's records, on the 4th and 5th of Tet, many sections of Tran Phu coastal road were filled with vehicles for many kilometers. Traffic police had to be present to regulate traffic at intersections with Tran Phu street. 4-5 star hotels were almost full, while 1-2 star hotels still had many empty rooms.

Mr. Xuan Huy from Dong Nai said, when the maximum speed on the Nha Trang – Cam Lam and Vinh Hao – Phan Thiet expressways was increased from 80km/h to 90km/h, my family chose to spend Tet holiday 4 days 3 nights in Nha Trang.

“It took us about 5 hours to travel from Dong Nai to Nha Trang so that our children could swim and play. Nha Trang has a lot of tourists and cars but not too much. We can still travel and still find suitable restaurants and places to play” – Mr. Xuan Huy commented.

Mr. Tran Minh Anh - manager of Luong Son Cang goods on Hung Vuong street, Nha Trang city said that the number of Tet visitors is quite large, in addition to domestic visitors, there are also many international tourists.

“To serve well during the Lunar New Year, we have prepared fresh seafood in advance. At the same time, we encourage and increase salaries for employees working during the Tet holidays” – Mr. Anh shared.

Talking to Kinh te & Do thi reporters, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Le Thanh said that the 2024 Lunar New Year has 7 days off (from February 8 to 14, from the 29th lunar day to the 5th day of Tet) enough for groups of families and friends to make spring trips to celebrate Tet. This is also an opportunity for tourist attractions in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa to attract visitors.

Accordingly, the total number of visitors to Khanh Hoa for sightseeing and relaxation reached 631,488, the average room occupancy rate of accommodation establishments was about 79.73%. In which, the peak was mainly concentrated from the 2nd day of Tet to the 5th day of Tet with room occupancy rate of over 80% at some hotels in the city center, 4-5 star resorts in coastal areas had occupancy rate of over 90%. Tourism revenue reached over 950 billion VND.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, to achieve the above results, travel agencies, accommodation establishments and service providers in Khanh Hoa province have made the best preparations in terms of human resources, actively renovated and upgraded infrastructure, created beautiful landscapes and green spaces to best meet the needs of tourists.

In addition, Khanh Hoa province has had many major events to serve people and tourists at 2/4 Square, such as the special music and fashion show "Celebrating the Party - Celebrating the Year of the Dragon" in 2024 and organizing a 15-minute low-altitude fireworks display at New Year's Eve.

Along with that are special cultural and artistic programs, such as: "Lion - Lion - Dragon" art performance on the evening of the first day of Tet; the mixed performance of Tuong and folk songs "Khanh Hoa my hometown" on the evening of the second day of Tet; the music and dance performance "Spring in the homeland" on the evening of the third day of Tet; the performance of the folk song and play "My village teacher Khoa" on the evening of the fourth day of Tet; human chess competition from the third to the fifth day of Tet...

The Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism added that, in order to strengthen management and control of tourism service business quality, prevent price increases and price gouging of tourists, the Department issued Decision No. 07/QD-SDL dated January 9, 2024 on surprise inspection of compliance with legal regulations in tourism business activities in the province before, during and after Tet.

Accordingly, the Inspection Team conducted inspections at the tourist wharf area and tourist areas and spots for 6 tourism businesses and 6 tour guides. At the same time, the Inspection Team conducted surprise inspections of compliance with legal regulations on price posting and selling at listed prices at tourist accommodation service businesses before, during and after the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin.

“During the Lunar New Year, the Department of Tourism has increased its staff to arrange for people to answer the hotline of the Tourist Support Center 0947.528.000 and *2258 (24/7) to receive feedback from tourists and arrange for people to be on duty at the Tourist Support Information Station on Tran Phu Street from 8:00 to 21:00 every day.

Through that, the hotline has received and handled 4 cases of tourists' reflection. In addition, the majority of the common needs of tourists are to request information about areas, attractions, entertainment in Nha Trang, routes, foreign currency exchange points..." - Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh said.
