Racing to speed up the construction of advanced new rural areas in Vu Quang

The mountainous district of Vu Quang ( Ha Tinh ) is focusing all resources to speed up the implementation of the criteria for an advanced new rural district. This is also a practical activity to welcome the new year 2024 of the locality.

These days, despite the unfavorable weather, with the help of more than 120 officers and soldiers of the 80th Information Brigade (Military Region 4) and the Military Command of Vu Quang district, the people of Lien Chau village have carried out many important tasks of building a new rural area such as: arranging 60 model gardens, building more than 2km of roadsides and many other tasks.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (Lien Chau village, Duc Lien commune) shared: “As a village at the bottom of the commune, the infrastructure is still facing many difficulties, so if we only rely on the people, it will be very difficult to reach the finish line of the model new rural residential area next year. Thanks to the "support" of the officers and soldiers of the 80th Information Brigade and the District Military Command, the burden of the villagers and the village Party Committee seems to have been lightened. In particular, when witnessing the children working wholeheartedly for the village, the villagers have become more aware and responsible in carrying out the common work, determined to bring the village to the finish line early next year."

As a flood-prone commune of Vu Quang, the conditions for implementing the new rural criteria are still difficult, but thanks to the timely support of authorities at all levels, armed forces, and the solidarity and high determination of the people, up to now, Duc Lien commune has achieved many positive results in building new rural areas.

Up to now, Duc Lien commune has basically achieved 12/20 criteria for advanced new rural commune.

Chairman of Duc Lien Commune People's Committee Le Van Hung said that since the beginning of the year, the commune has mobilized 9,000 working days to renovate and expand 4km of roads, 3km of electric lines, renovate 4 village cultural houses, and demolish 400 mixed gardens... Thanks to that, the appearance of the commune is more spacious and fresh. The locality plans to register to reach the advanced NTM commune goal by the end of next year. To achieve that goal, in the past time, the commune has proactively reviewed and evaluated the level of completion of the criteria, and developed a specific implementation plan. Thereby, focusing on propaganda and mobilizing people to resolutely participate in implementing, supplementing, upgrading and completing the unmet criteria. Up to now, the locality has basically achieved 12/20 criteria of advanced NTM commune.

Localities in Vu Quang are focusing on improving the quality of NTM criteria to bring the district to the advanced NTM finish line soon.

The atmosphere of launching the construction of new rural areas is also taking place enthusiastically in Duc Linh commune. It is known that up to now, the locality has achieved 4/4 criteria of model new rural areas, and is currently building documents and requesting appraisal from all levels.

Party Secretary and Chairman of Duc Linh Commune People's Committee Nguyen Xuan The said: "At the end of the year, we mobilized thousands of working days and made the most of resources to speed up the progress of implementing tasks, especially key traffic routes and important projects. Thereby, contributing to "improving the quality" of criteria, aiming to achieve the model NTM standard by early 2024."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoan (Cua Linh village, Duc Linh commune) shared: "With a high sense of responsibility, almost every day people try to arrange time, arrange people to participate in the work of renovating the guild hall, cleaning the environment, planting more green fences, installing additional lighting systems and decorative lights... to improve the quality of the criteria, together with the commune to soon achieve the model new rural target".

Since the beginning of 2023, Vu Quang district has mobilized more than 30 billion VND to build new rural areas.

Not only Duc Lien and Duc Linh communes, but also the remaining 8 localities of Vu Quang district are focusing on improving the NTM criteria, joining hands to soon bring the district to meet the advanced NTM standards by 2025. This is a practical activity to welcome the local New Year 2024.

According to the Office of New Rural Development of Vu Quang district, since the beginning of 2023, with great efforts and determination, the whole district has mobilized more than 60 billion VND, more than 300,000 working days, mobilized people to donate more than 12,000 ^{square meters} of land and hundreds of solid works to upgrade more than 11 kilometers of roadbeds and sidewalks; and renovated more than 5,000 household gardens...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong - Deputy Chief of the Office of New Rural Areas of Vu Quang district said: "With the active participation of all levels, sectors and localities, especially the joint efforts and consensus of the people, up to this point, the locality has basically achieved 3/9 criteria of an advanced new rural district (electricity; irrigation - natural disaster prevention; security and order - public administration). The remaining criteria have reached 80 - 90%. In the coming time, the locality will continue to mobilize the people to actively join hands with authorities at all levels to carry out the task of building new rural areas, while using resources with focus and key points, bringing high efficiency".
