Estonia says FSB may be behind Germany incident, Iran denies training Russian forces, Ukraine admits difficulties on front

According to European Pravda, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that the hypothesis of Russia's involvement in the explosion at a military production facility in Germany is highly likely.

Mr Pevkur pointed out that Russia's hybrid attacks on NATO member states began before the alliance discussed hybrid warfare.

He said Estonia has been facing hybrid attacks from Russia, including cyber attacks, since 2007. Initially, these were cyber attacks, but they progressed to physical attacks and then to explosions. He said there was clear evidence that these attacks were orchestrated by the Russian government . Russia was testing the limits to see how far it could go before Article 5 of the NATO treaty was triggered.

According to the minister, the Germans will now investigate very carefully what happened at Diehl's arsenal on August 30. "And I will not be too surprised when we hear that this incident was staged by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB)," he said.

According to Mehr News agency, on August 31, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan'ani rejected baseless allegations that an Iranian military officer was present on Ukrainian soil to train Russian forces.

Mr. Kan'ani stated that such baseless accusations are made with specific political motives and objectives, noting that these accusations contradict Iran's principled approach to the conflict in Ukraine. He affirmed that Iran opposes the conflict, stressing the need to end and resolve the dispute between Russia and Ukraine peacefully.

Kan'ani's comments came after Ukraine's Attorney General Andriy Kostin said an investigation had been launched against a general of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on suspicion of supporting Russia against Ukraine.

According to Mr. Andriy Kostin, the investigation showed that in July-August 2022, Russian military representatives reached an agreement with Iran on the purchase of Shahed-136 and Mohajer-6 attack drones, along with related equipment.

Iran has repeatedly and firmly denied allegations of involvement in the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

On August 31, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky shared on his Telegram channel that the Ukrainian army is facing problems on four fronts at the same time. This is the situation in part of Donetsk province as well as Kharkov.

Mr. Zelensky wrote: “Today, I talked with the Commander-in-Chief (Alexander Syrsky), the Pokrovsk direction has the most attacks, and the Kramatorsk, Toretsk (Russian call it Dzerzhinsky), Kupyansk directions are also not easy.

German journalist Christoph Wanner noted that the Ukrainian military is having problems in Donbass. According to the reporter, the situation in Ukraine is very difficult, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) were forced to withdraw from key positions in their defense line due to Russian attacks.
