Roger Federer has floated the idea of ​​him and tennis great Rafael Nadal teaming up to form a private tour for legends.

The tournament is called the "Fedal Tour". This surprising idea comes just before the 2025 Laver Cup, a tournament co-founded by Federer himself.

Speaking in an interview, the 44-year-old Swiss legend shared: "I played tennis for four hours in San Francisco and an hour and a half in Los Angeles recently.

I've been training a lot to stay in shape and I know Nadal is ready to play tennis. It sounds a bit bad to say 'senior tennis', but why not? I love Nadal and maybe we can create a tour, like the 'Fedal Tour'."

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have dominated men's tennis for nearly 20 years. The three of them created the "Big Three" era with classic matches. Although both have retired, the idea of ​​a new confrontation between them still makes fans excited.

Federer also said that the Laver Cup was one of the inspirations for the idea. "One of the reasons I created the Laver Cup was to honor the legends of tennis. People really want to see the old champions play, so I would consider that idea," he said.

Also talking about the 2025 Laver Cup taking place in San Francisco, Federer believes that the European team will win thanks to the excellent form of Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev.

"I think the European team is stronger and has the advantage to bring the trophy home again because of the presence of Alcaraz and Zverev. Especially Alcaraz, he is playing at another level. I always enjoy watching Alcaraz play," the tennis legend commented.

The Laver Cup is an annual international tennis tournament co-founded by the legendary Roger Federer, bringing together the world's top 12 tennis players and dividing them into two teams: Team Europe and Team World, captained by the legends.

With its unique format, the Laver Cup takes place over 3 days with a total of 12 matches (9 singles and 3 doubles). Each win will bring points increasing day by day (1 point on day 1, 2 points on day 2 and 3 points on day 3). The team that reaches 13 points first will win the championship.
Notably, each player takes the court once or twice for singles with at least four of the six players taking part in doubles. All matches are played in a best-of-three format, with a 10-point tie-break if the match goes to the third set.

The Laver Cup has officially become an ATP Tour event since 2019. However, participating players will not be counted in the ATP rankings.
