Coffee prices could fall up to 30% by 2025

Arabica coffee futures are expected to fall by up to 30% between now and the end of the year.

Recent record high prices have caused a slump in demand, while there are early signs of a bumper coffee crop in Brazil. Coffee prices Robusta could also decline at a similar pace.

According to a survey conducted by Reuters, the forecast for Arabica coffee prices at the end of 2025 could reach more than $6,200/ton, which is 30% lower than the current price. Robusta coffee prices are also forecast to end this year at $4,200/ton, down 28% compared to the closing price this week.

Brazil’s Robusta coffee output is forecast to rise to 24.5 million bags in 2025-26, from 21 million bags in the previous crop year. Robusta coffee output in Vietnam, the world’s largest grower of this type of coffee, is also forecast to increase, reaching 29 million bags from 28 million bags in the previous crop year.

In the domestic market, today (February 21), domestic coffee prices fell sharply after yesterday's strong increase. Currently, coffee prices in the Central Highlands provinces range from 131,000 - 132,200 VND/kg, down 1,200 - 1,300 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Specifically: Dak Lak, Gia Lai: 132,000 VND/kg (-1,300 VND). Lam Dong: 131,000 VND/kg (-1,200 VND). Dak Nong : 132,200 VND/kg (-1,300 VND).

Compared to the highest price recorded on February 19 (133,500 VND/kg), coffee prices have lost about 1,500 - 1,700 VND/kg after only two sessions, showing the selling pressure of the market in the context of plummeting world coffee prices.
