Gia Lai aims for GRDP growth of 10%/year, average income reaching 6,500 USD

The 1st Gia Lai Provincial Party Congress set a target of 10% annual GRDP growth, per capita income of 6,500 USD by 2030, striving to make Gia Lai a well-off province in the country.

On the morning of October 4, the 1st Congress of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, held its closing session. The Congress passed a resolution with guidelines and many important goals and targets.

Bringing per capita income to 6,300 - 6,500 USD

Accordingly, the Resolution of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Congress for the next term sets out 10 major economic targets, with very ambitious targets.

Specifically, the growth rate of gross local product (GRDP) in the 2025 - 2030 period strives to reach 10% - 10.5%/year, with GRDP per capita reaching 6,300 - 6,500 USD.

By 2030, the total budget revenue in the province will reach over 41,000 billion VND; there will be 20 enterprises/1,000 people;

Striving to welcome 18.5 million tourists , including 1.1 million international visitors; completing 11,800 social housing units. Total export turnover during this period reached over 17 billion USD.

Talking about socio-economic development targets, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee - said that the congress had specifically calculated socio-economic targets for each locality in each year and synthesized them into general targets for the term.

These targets are calculated based on very specific work contents, on the basis of the economic scale of each commune and ward by 2030, and are completely achievable.

On behalf of the presidium, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term - expressed his thanks to the delegates attending the congress and believed that the provincial leadership in the new term will continue to unite and successfully implement the goals set by the congress.

After the closing speech, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung was moved to thank the collective of cadres, former cadres in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and cadres and people who accompanied and helped him to successfully complete his tasks.

At the same time, he asked the provincial leadership to continue to unite and successfully implement the goals and targets set out in the congress resolution; making Gia Lai increasingly develop, becoming a prosperous province along with the whole country.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , on October 3, at the opening session of the 1st Gia Lai Provincial Party Congress, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee - announced the Politburo's decisions on Gia Lai province's personnel.

Accordingly, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, ceased participating in the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, ceased holding the position of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and related positions to comply with the Central's procedures.

Senior Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - was appointed by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

At the press conference after the congress, Mr. Rah Lan Chung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Council - said that the urgent task of the province in the near future is to increase investment in infrastructure connecting the East - West regions, prioritizing resources for infrastructure investment in the Western region. In particular, preparing conditions for early commencement of construction of the Quy Nhon - Pleiku expressway.

The province will focus on developing its strengths in renewable energy, wind power and solar power projects. Remove bottlenecks, unlock development resources; review and evaluate, improve the quality of staff, and arrange staff according to their capacity and strengths.
