Previously, due to heavy rain lasting from noon on August 29 to morning on August 30, the Mo Nang 2 spillway was deeply flooded and severely eroded, completely cutting off Mo Nang 2 village with 341 households. Although the water receded later, it was still deep, people could only walk, greatly affecting their daily life and production.

At around 7:30 a.m. on August 31, when the water had completely receded, the commune mobilized 50 people including police, residents and 3 vehicles to reinforce and level the underground surface. By 6:00 p.m. the same day, the route was temporarily repaired and traffic could resume.

Mr. Manh said the spillway has only been temporarily reinforced, and if heavy rain continues, it could be damaged further. The commune has requested higher authorities to soon allocate funds for permanent investment to ensure long-term safety for the people.
