Rice price today August 9: Export rice increases, domestic rice stable

Domestic rice prices today are stable, fresh rice is 5,700 - 6,200 VND/kg, CL 555 rice has decreased to 8,600 - 8,750 VND/kg. Exported rice has increased sharply, 5% broken rice reached 395 USD/ton.

Domestic rice prices

In the Mekong Delta, rice prices are stable: IR 50404, OM 18, Nang Hoa 9, Dai Thom 8 fluctuated at 5,700 - 6,200 VND/kg. CL 555 raw rice decreased by 50 VND/kg, to 8,600 - 8,750 VND/kg; OM 380 8,200 - 8,300 VND/kg; OM 5451 9,500 - 9,650 VND/kg; IR 504 8,400 - 8,600 VND/kg; OM 18 9,600 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Trading market

Rice supply in An Giang, Dong Thap, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Long An decreased, transactions were slow. Traders bought sparingly, prices fluctuated little. In Sa Dec and An Cu, rice supply was low, the market was quiet.

Export rice price

Vietnam's rice export prices increased by 1-4 USD/ton: 5% broken rice 395 USD/ton, 25% broken rice 371 USD/ton, 100% broken rice 339 USD/ton. Vietnam exported 5.5 million tons of rice in the first 7 months of 2025, an increase of 3.7%, but the Philippines temporarily stopped imports from September 1 and proposed to increase import taxes, causing downward pressure on prices.
