On the afternoon of December 26, at the National Assembly House, Politburo member, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man - Head of the Steering Committee of the Second National Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Council (Dien Hong Award) - 2024 chaired the meeting of the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee of the award.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Thanh Man acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive results in implementing the Second Dien Hong Award - 2024 and the preparation for the Award Ceremony.
He suggested that from now until the Award Ceremony, the Organizing Committee needs to focus on ensuring progress, improving quality; continue to promote the sense of responsibility and initiative to effectively carry out key tasks in preparing for the Award Ceremony.
Overview of the meeting.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly noted that it is necessary to continue promoting the propaganda work on the Award Ceremony to highlight the significance of the second Dien Hong Award - 2024 taking place on the occasion of the anniversary of the first General Election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2024); at the same time, highlighting the prestige of the Dien Hong Award as a national press award on the National Assembly and People's Councils.
Regarding the assignment of tasks, Mr. Tran Thanh Man assigned the National Assembly Office to continue directing relevant units to continue implementing the issued plan for the Award Ceremony; coordinate with news agencies and press to organize propaganda before, during and after the Award Ceremony;
Coordinate with Vietnam Television to complete the program production script; proactively work with the volunteer units of the first season to coordinate support for the second Dien Hong Award and the following years...

Previously, reporting on the implementation of the second Dien Hong Award - 2024 and the preparation for the Award Ceremony, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office, Assistant to the National Assembly Chairman Pham Thai Ha said that the Organizing Committee had reported to the National Assembly Chairman on the organization of the Award; at the same time, asked for the direction of the National Assembly Chairman on a number of related contents.
Accordingly, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue agreed with the Steering Committee's proposal on a number of contents. Regarding the time of organization, the Award Ceremony will take place at 8:10 p.m. on January 5, 2024, starting with live television and radio broadcast on VTV1 Channel of Vietnam Television, VOV1 Channel of Voice of Vietnam and Vietnam National Assembly Television. The Award Ceremony will be held at the Vietnam - Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, Hanoi.
Regarding the judging process, Mr. Pham Thai Ha said that up to now, the judging council has completed the preliminary and final judging.
Specifically, the Preliminary Judging Council selected 106 works to enter the final round, including: 26 print works, 15 magazine works, 25 electronic newspaper works, 12 radio works, 20 television works and 8 photojournalistic works. The Final Judging Council voted and selected 79 works to award prizes, including: 7 A Prizes, 14 B Prizes, 20 C Prizes and 38 Encouragement Prizes.
The number of awarded works ensures the structure of the Awards specified in the award rules. In general, the Award Judging Council highly appreciates the quality of the works participating in the second Dien Hong Award, especially the outstanding quality of the awarded works this time, demonstrating the attention, investment and response of press agencies as well as reporters and editors of central and local press agencies .
