On the morning of September 15, in Hanoi , the Organizing Committee of the 5th National Press Award for Anti-Corruption, Waste and Negativity 2024-2025 held a meeting of the Final Council.
According to the report of the Preliminary Council, as of July 31, 2025, the Organizing Committee had received 1,110 valid entries of 4 press genres including: print, electronic, radio, and television from nearly 90 press agencies at the central and local levels.
After two weeks of independent marking, with a high sense of responsibility, democracy and objectivity, the members of the Preliminary Council analyzed, discussed and comprehensively evaluated each work and reached a consensus on selecting the works for the final round.
As a result, the Preliminary Council selected 91 works in 4 categories, including 30 print works, 35 electronic newspapers, 16 television works, and 10 radio works to enter the final round for the Final Council to review and rank the awards: Special (if any), A, B, C, and Encouragement.
The 5th National Press Award for preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity had the participation of many central and local press agencies.
Press works not only focus on reflecting on the topic of preventing and combating corruption and negativity, but also focus on propagating and reflecting on the practice of thrift and combating waste in the whole society, strongly criticizing and condemning wasteful acts; propagating the results of the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity in both the State and non-State sectors.
Some works are elaborately invested, presented in the form of mega stories. The works of local press agencies are quite good in quality, with deep investment in themes, topics, and ways of presenting rich journalistic works, following the trend of modern journalism; reflecting and fighting against "fear of responsibility", the mindset of working half-heartedly, avoiding, pushing, fear of making mistakes and not daring to do things among cadres and party members, especially leaders and managers at all levels; building a culture of integrity, no corruption, waste, and negativity among cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and the people.
Many works reflect the role and results of activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio- political organizations, the press and people in participating in the fight against corruption, waste and negativity.
According to the plan, the Organizing Committee of the 5th National Press Award for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity, 2024-2025, expects the number and structure of the 5th Award to include 44 awards, specifically as follows: Special Award (if any), 4 A awards, 10 B awards, 12 C awards and 18 Encouragement awards.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Head of the Organizing Committee, said that the 5th National Press Award on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity has received the attention and enthusiastic response of reporters and editors, gathering good writers from news agencies and newspapers at the central and local levels.
The quality of the works participating in the competition has been significantly improved each year. The scoring results of the Preliminary Council are important content, helping the Final Council carry out the next tasks to select works that are truly valuable, have strong influence in the social community, have high orientation, comply with the spirit and working regulations of the Council, and ensure good implementation of the contest rules.
The Final Jury needs to closely follow the basis, criteria, and rules of the award in the process of reviewing and scoring journalistic works, in the spirit of objectivity, comprehensiveness, and accuracy, thereby selecting worthy works, contributing to promoting the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity of the Party and State in the current period, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Ha Thi Nga noted.
The 5th National Press Award for Anti-Corruption and Negativity, 2024-2025, jointly organized by the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television.
The award structure includes: Special, A, B, C and Encouragement prizes for press categories, in which the Special prize is worth 100 million VND; A prize is 50 million VND each; B prize is 30 million VND each; C prize is 20 million VND each; Encouragement prize is 10 million VND each.
The closing and award ceremony will be held in Hanoi in November 2025 on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front - Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025) and will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel, Vietnam Television./.
