Where will the Asian Grammy Awards be held?

The Grammy Awards are one of the world's most prestigious music awards. According to the Korea Times , the prestigious awards ceremony may hold its first Asian edition in South Korea. Sources close to the ceremony revealed that the Recording Academy is considering between South Korea and Japan. They have had discussions with stakeholders in the Korean music and technology industries.

If South Korea is chosen, the three cities being considered as the host cities are Seoul, Incheon and Hanam (Gyeonggi Province). Recording Academy President Panos Panay and CEO Harvey Mason Jr. have met with the heads of leading entertainment companies such as HYBE, YG Entertainment, Kakao Entertainment, CJ ENM, as well as technology companies such as Naver, KT and local governments of these three cities.

While the parties involved confirmed that meetings had taken place, they declined to disclose details of the discussions. However, an unnamed official said that hosting the Grammys in Korea would be a mutually beneficial relationship, allowing the Grammys to expand into the Asian market and the Korean entertainment industry to benefit from the awards' reputation.

The event is of great significance to the Asian music industry.

In a 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter , CEO Harvey Mason Jr. shared about the Recording Academy's global journey to learn and collaborate with music ecosystems around the world .

The Grammy Awards, which were established in 1958, are highly regarded for their artistic integrity and recognition of outstanding achievements in the music industry. In South Korea, BTS is the only K-pop group to have ever been nominated for a Grammy.

Hosting the Asian Grammy Awards in Korea will be a significant event, not only for Korea but also for the entire Asian music industry. It will be an opportunity for Asian artists to be recognized and honored on the international stage, while promoting the development and cultural exchange between countries in the region.
