On the opening day of the 2025 U20 Asian Cup on February 12, U20 China faced U20 Qatar at home.
With the home advantage, U20 China quickly deployed an attacking style of play and had a sublime match. Kuai Jiwen opened the score for China in the 17th minute and just 4 minutes later, Liu Chengyu doubled the gap with an accurate finish after a delicate pass from Chen Zeshi.
Meanwhile, U20 Qatar encountered many difficulties and only created one dangerous shot in the first 30 minutes of the first half.

In the second half, U20 Qatar played better. In the 55th minute, Mohamed Hani Faragalla reduced the score to 1-2 after a pass created by Tahsin Jamshid.

However, the home team only finished second in Group A because in the early match, U20 Australia won Kyrgyzstan with a score of 5-1. Luka Jovanovic and Musa Toure each scored a double, while Daniel Benne added another goal, helping Australia to a perfect start to the tournament and temporarily hold the top spot in Group A.
In the next round of Group A, Kyrgyzstan will meet host China, Australia will face Qatar on February 15.
