Improve the quality of each lecture

Being a mountainous district, the students of political theory have uneven levels of education, many of whom are party members and ethnic minority people. Therefore, the Na Hang District Political Center always applies active teaching methods, focusing on students in each lecture. For many years, regardless of the long distance, the Center's full-time and part-time lecturers have regularly gone to communes and commune clusters to teach political theory to cadres, party members and people.

Comrade Dinh Thi Hong Khanh, Deputy Director of the Na Hang District Political Center shared: “In order to ensure the quality of each lecture, the Propaganda Department and the leaders of the District Political Center review and approve the lectures and lesson plans of the lecturers. Lecturers will have to research and thoroughly grasp the situation in the commune and the subjects of political theory to build a topic related to practice.

For example, when a lecturer teaches in an area with religious students, he or she will develop a related topic on religion and religious policies. Or when teaching in an area with a large number of ethnic minority students, he or she will have a related topic on ethnic policies.

It can be affirmed that the innovation of political theory teaching is currently being carried out more closely and systematically at the Provincial Political School, Political Centers of districts and cities. Some teaching materials are old, such as the teaching materials for the elementary political theory program from 2012, some documents serving the teaching of political theory for some mass organizations are also old and have not been updated. Therefore, lecturers have had to supplement and update new knowledge such as: The contents of the Resolution of the 12th and 13th National Congress of the Party, the socio -economic development situation of the country and localities... to include in each lecture.

According to comrade Mai Quang Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Principal of the Provincial Political School, the school always puts the quality of each lecture first. Lectures must ensure harmony between theoretical and practical knowledge, closely follow reality and have "party character", regularly update new and suitable content; attach importance to discussion activities, and connect with practice so that students have more skills and methods to solve and handle situations at the grassroots level.

Lectures must harmoniously apply traditional and active teaching methods, effectively using modern teaching aids. Lecturers promote students' independence and creativity during class. School leaders agree on the view that lecturers will only be assigned to classes when the lecture has ensured process and quality.

The school's scientific council increases the activities of ad hoc class observation, and after the observation, organizes meetings to give comments and draw lessons from the lessons. Organizes professional and technical exchanges through teaching demonstrations and annual school-level competitions for excellent lecturers. To have more channels to evaluate the quality of lectures, the school annually organizes feedback forms from students; regularly exchanges with the Executive Committee and students of each class to grasp the situation of the class as well as the thoughts and wishes of students.

Interest in practical research

The political theory teaching and learning program at the Political School and the Political Center has been innovated in the direction of focusing on organizing students to do practical research such as visiting and learning not only about historical revolutionary sites in the province but also in other provinces, visiting typical economic development models in localities inside and outside the province. This will make the lectures of lecturers and practical knowledge of students more vivid and rich. This activity is also given special attention by the provincial Party Committee, districts and cities to create funds.

Comrade Le Minh Phuong, Deputy Director of Yen Son District Political Center, said that after each theoretical class, the Center selects a number of famous revolutionary relic sites in the country for students to study such as: Kim Lien Relic Site (Nghe An), Dong Loc T-junction Relic Site (Ha Tinh), Bach Dang Giang Relic Site (Hai Phong) or visit and learn about the reality at a number of economic development models of farms, family farms, bright spots of new rural construction... in localities in the province.

Ms. Pham Thi Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell of Nhu Khe Commune Health Station, a student of the 1st Elementary Political Theory Class in 2024 of the Yen Son District Political Center, shared: “After studying the theory and visiting and learning at some historical sites in the country and some typical economic models in the province, I found that studying political theory is no longer dry but very lively, proven by reality. My knowledge of culture, history, and economics is also equipped to propagate to other party members in the Party Cell.”

Comrade Dinh Thi Hong Khanh, Deputy Director of the Na Hang District Political Center added: “The Center also organizes for students to learn and research on practical models of new rural construction and modern agricultural development in provinces such as Son La, Hoa Binh, etc. so that students can accumulate and equip themselves with more knowledge and learn new ways of developing agriculture. This is very useful, especially for students who are party members and people in rural areas and particularly difficult communes.”

The innovation in teaching political theory in recent times has contributed to resolutely overcoming the disease of being afraid to learn, being lazy to learn political theory, showing signs of learning to cope, learning to get a degree, not really. From there, helping students to be self-aware and proactive in learning political theory.
