With the advantage of possessing diverse tourism resources, unique culture and cuisine, Lam Dong is exploiting the potential of night tourism by developing attractive products and services. In particular, Lam Dong has been implementing 5 models of developing night tourism products including: performing arts; sports , health care, beauty; shopping, night entertainment; night sightseeing; introducing culinary culture, night food services.
Thereby, promoting solutions such as: diversifying night tourism products; developing infrastructure and services; attracting investment and socialization; creating momentum for economic growth and attracting visitors. However, at the working session with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Head of Tourism Management Department - Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province said that in the implementation process, there are still some limitations such as: night economic models are mainly developed outdoors, depending on weather and climate. Besides, facilities and infrastructure are still limited; food courts, squares, parks, night entertainment areas, night shopping areas, tourism products... do not meet requirements; large businesses in the area are still few, commercial centers and supermarkets have not been formed. The system of restaurant and accommodation service facilities has not been invested synchronously, operating on a small scale, mainly small-scale motels.
In the investment and planning procedures, the auction and bidding plan for the Night Food Market project in Mui Ne ward was delayed because the investor stopped construction. Some models affected the living space of the people; lacked unique products and market appeal; the organization of night sightseeing services at cultural and historical sites (museums, relic sites, etc.) has not been widely deployed; the promotion and connection of international night tours is still limited; most of the guests are spontaneous, and a chain of inter-provincial night products has not been formed.
To overcome the current difficulties in implementing and developing night tourism in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed that the Provincial People's Committee pay attention to directing the completion of planning and calling for investment. Specifically, develop a plan to call for investment in Tran Quoc Toan walking street with various types of performing arts activities, commercial booth models with beautifully decorated train cars and lake sightseeing activities by decorated boats.
Complete the investment calling plan (bidding or auction) for the Light Park to form a landscape park area combined with a new, more modern and beautiful parking lot and night market. At the same time, complete the planning of Lu Gia Residential Area to call for investment in a residential area combined with a walking street and night market in the area north of Xuan Huong Lake, oriented to form a model street.
Complete the planning of night infrastructure in key tourist areas; prioritize investment in artistic lighting systems, centralized parking lots, and security cameras. Direct the review, simplification, and shortening of administrative procedures for granting investment licenses for night tourism projects; issue a set of model criteria for night streets and night markets to meet the requirements of commercial civilization and fire prevention and fighting.
Directing relevant agencies to continue to pay attention to studying and removing obstacles and difficulties for businesses in implementing night-time economic investment models. Encouraging businesses in Tuyen Lam Lake National Tourist Area, Lam Vien Square area, Mui Ne National Tourist Area to develop new, high-class night-time services, especially high-class services that operate all night.
For the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism recommends that the Government issue mechanisms and policies to encourage and support units participating in night-time economic activities, especially activities from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.
Gradually removing difficulties, promoting the exploitation of night-time economy from tourism will be a new breeze to promote economic growth, create jobs and improve the experience for tourists every time they come to Lam Dong.
