Recently, many users continue to complain about the inexplicable slowness they experience when watching YouTube on PC browsers. Accordingly, some users on the Reddit forum posted that YouTube lagged and responded slowly. But when they turned off the ad blocker, the website worked normally again.

People assumed this was the latest YouTube crackdown on ad blockers, but Google surprisingly confirmed to Android Central that the situation was not related to its fight against ad blockers, and the company also shared some tips to fix it.
After some investigation, it appears that YouTube's recent performance issues are actually caused by ad blocker usage. According to Raymond Hill, developer of uBlock Origin, the issue mostly affects people who use both AdBlock and AdBlock Plus. He explained that the issue is with ad blockers, not Google intentionally slowing down YouTube.
Following this statement, the AdBlock and AdBlock Plus development teams confirmed the issue and announced that the two ad blockers have been updated to fix the issue that caused YouTube and other platforms to slow down.
