Hanoi is heavily flooded, many schools have decided to let students stay home tomorrow.

(Dan Tri) - After an afternoon of students struggling to go home amid heavy rain and flooding, many schools have announced that students will be off tomorrow, October 1.

Ms. Nguyen Mai Lan, a parent of a student at Cau Giay Secondary School, said the school has announced that all students will be off school tomorrow, Wednesday, October 1.

It rained heavily this morning but the school did not cancel classes. However, the school let students go home after the morning session and take online classes in the afternoon. Many students had difficulty traveling because it rained heavily in Hanoi this afternoon, many roads and streets were heavily flooded.

Late this afternoon, many public and private schools in Hanoi announced that students would be off tomorrow. Among them are Dich Vong A Primary School, Hanoi Star School, and Giang Vo 2 Secondary School. Only Giang Vo 2 School will conduct online learning.

Nguyen Sieu School has allowed students to stay home from school since early this morning, and also issued a second notice of school closure tomorrow to ensure student safety in unpredictable weather conditions.

Luong The Vinh Secondary and High School, Tan Trieu campus, has allowed students to study online for two days now, starting September 29. The school is located in an area that often experiences deep flooding during heavy rains. Regarding tomorrow's study plan, the school said it will notify parents at 5:30 am.

In case the weather continues to be bad, high school students will have time off and study at home, while middle school students will study online according to the schedule.

This afternoon, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training issued a notice to schools about responding to storm No. 10.

Accordingly, schools proactively respond promptly and move machinery and equipment if necessary.

For schools with boarding students, schools must coordinate with families to promptly grasp student information. Schools absolutely must not organize outdoor or extracurricular activities on rainy or stormy days.

Speaking to Dan Tri reporter, the Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that schools can flexibly schedule classes or holidays to suit and ensure the safety of students.
