Two important traffic projects are about to be implemented in Hanoi.

Thanh Xuan District People's Council has just approved the implementation of site clearance for the Ring Road 2.5 project, Nguyen Trai - Dam Hong section, and the Nguyen Tuan Street expansion project. The total investment capital for these two projects is nearly 3,000 billion VND.

Nguyen Tuan Street is full of urban areas and apartments, but the road surface is still narrow and often congested.

According to Giao Thong Newspaper, with the project to expand Nguyen Tuan Street, since 2018, Thanh Xuan District People's Committee approved the project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street. Two years later, the district continued to approve the project's construction drawing design.

The approved plan, the starting point of the project intersects Nguyen Trai Street, the end point reaches lane 162 Nguyen Tuan, 720m long, expanded on the basis of the existing road. The total investment is about 400 billion VND.

The route has a cross-section of 21m, including a 15m wide roadway and 3m wide shoulders.

Thanh Xuan District aims to approve all plans for site clearance by the end of 2022. By mid-2023, the project will be implemented. Construction will be completed within 1 year.

However, the difficulty in site clearance has prevented the project to renovate and expand Nguyen Tuan Street from being implemented.

Once completed, the project is expected to reduce traffic congestion, improve urban landscape, and create momentum for socio -economic development in Thanh Xuan district.

The district is also determined to carry out the site clearance work for the investment project to build the Ring Road 2.5 section from Nguyen Trai to Dam Hong this year.

It is known that Ring Road 2.5, Nguyen Trai - Dam Hong section, is about 1.6km long; the cross-section of the roadbed is about 40m; the road surface is 22.5m wide; the sidewalk is about 14.5m wide; the median strip is about 3m wide.

This is a group A project, with a total estimated investment of about 2,570 billion VND from the city budget. The project is invested by Thanh Xuan District People's Committee.

The project passes through 3 wards: Thuong Dinh, Khuong Trung and Khuong Dinh. The project implementation period is from 2022 to 2027.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the above project is on the list of projects expected to be implemented in the 2021-2025 period from a mobilized capital of VND 30,000 billion and is detailed with a source of VND 1,700 billion in the report dated November 18, 2022 of the City People's Committee and the City People's Council approved in the Resolution dated December 10, 2022.

Also according to the report of Hanoi People's Committee, the estimated capital plan demand for the 2026 - 2030 period for the Ring Road 2.5 project, Nguyen Trai - Dam Hong section, is about 870 billion VND.

The investment objective is to complete and unblock the Ring Road 2.5, ensuring the synchronization of the urban transport system, in accordance with the overall master plan of Hanoi City. The project's completion is expected to reduce traffic pressure in the area.
