On January 1, the leader of the People's Committee of Nam Hai Ward, Hai An District ( Hai Phong City) said that Hai An District Police and other functional forces are urgently investigating and clarifying the cause of the unusual death of Mr. TNL (born in 1988) and Mrs. TTC (born in 1960, Mr. L.'s mother), also residing at 359P, Nam Hai Street, Nam Hai Ward.

According to initial information, at noon on December 31, 2024, Ms. TTC went to the market, bought food to cook for her family as usual. The meal included braised fish, omelet with meat and chrysanthemum green soup.

After lunch, in the afternoon, Mr. TNL showed unusual symptoms and vomited, so his relatives took him to a private medical facility for examination and IV fluids.

Afterwards, she and her son were taken to the emergency room, but Mr. L. was confirmed to have stopped circulating and died before arriving at the hospital. Mrs. C. also died shortly thereafter.

The leader of Nam Hai Ward People's Committee added that Mrs. C's grandchild was also present at lunch, but this person did not eat vegetable soup so there were no unusual symptoms.

Immediately after receiving the information, Hai An District Police coordinated with professional units of Hai Phong City Police to organize an autopsy, collect food samples for testing, and record statements of related people for verification and investigation.

It is known that Mrs. C. lives with her son and 4 grandchildren. Her family's daily life depends on the financial resources sent by her daughter who is working abroad.

Currently, the bodies of Mrs. C. and her daughter are being preserved by the authorities at the hospital, waiting for her daughter to return from abroad to complete the handover procedures.

Authorities are still actively investigating to clarify the cause.
