Two words "FELLOW COUNTRYMEN", two words "VIETNAM"

(NADS) - During the days when people in the North suffered heavy losses due to natural disasters, the two words "COMpatriots" and "VIETNAM" were mentioned the most. And the image of Party and Government leaders going to the flood-hit and disaster-ravaged areas to encourage people and direct the grassroots to overcome the consequences clearly demonstrated that.

The images of soldiers and policemen wading through storms and floods to save people, and brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives, were even more touching. The tradition of loving others as if they loved themselves, the noble acts of charity in many ways... There were professors who spent billions of dong in savings, many preschool and elementary school students "piggybacked" on breakfast savings, people from all walks of life supporting people in disaster areas... too many to mention.

The people of the Central region, the epicenter of storms and floods, and the people of the South are conducting many charitable activities for the people of the Northern provinces with money and materials before and after the Fatherland Front at all levels launched support. The more difficult, arduous, and painful the situation, the more the spirit of solidarity of the community and the Vietnamese people multiplies its strength. "Natural disasters, wars", our ancestors often said. Dealing with natural disasters before fighting the enemy. We have defeated many invaders thanks to the spirit of Vietnamese solidarity. Now, our Vietnam is more united in dealing with natural disasters, storms and floods. It is clearly shown from spontaneous charitable activities to calls for support from the Fatherland Front at all levels. And immediately, people across the country responded to the disaster-stricken areas.

Right now, relief organizations need to have a thoughtful plan and scientific allocation so that people in disaster-stricken areas can overcome hunger, disease, and avoid damage and loss, which is important in the short term. But we also need to pay attention to distributing resources immediately after the storm has passed, the flood has receded, and the water level has dropped alarmingly, helping people not to miss meals, clean the environment, prevent epidemics, and quickly stabilize their lives. At the same time, people in disaster-stricken areas need to promote their internal strength to start producing vegetables, crops, and raising livestock for long-term livelihoods, alongside the attention and management of Party committees, authorities, and the Fatherland Front at all levels with the spirit of all for the people's lives. To make the two words "COMpatriots" more meaningful than ever.
