Dozens of energy projects in Quang Ngai are preparing documents for investment licensing.

In addition to 25 hydropower projects in the process of preparing investment proposal documents, Quang Ngai also has gas-fired, waste-to-energy, and solar power projects in the process of preparing investment proposal documents.

Quang Ngai province has 17 hydropower projects under implementation.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Quang Ngai, up to now, the whole province has 17 hydropower projects under construction with a total capacity of 336.9 MW.

There are 6 hydropower projects with a total capacity of 67.6 MW that meet the conditions for deciding on investment policies and selecting investors. In addition, there are 25 hydropower projects with a total capacity of 266.2 MW that are in the stage of preparing investment proposal documents and 16 hydropower projects with a total capacity of 367.9 MW that are proposed to be updated in the provincial planning.

In addition, Quang Ngai currently has 2 wind power projects and 1 solar power project under investment; 1 waste-to-energy plant, 1 solar power plant and 3 gas-fired power plants in the process of preparing investment proposal documents.

Not only that, Quang Ngai also has 11 solar power projects with a total capacity of 600 MW, 6 wind power projects with a total capacity of 522.6 MW, and 2 biomass power projects with a capacity of 38 MW that are being proposed to be updated in the provincial planning.

Regarding hydropower, solar power, wind power projects... in Quang Ngai, recently Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien chaired a meeting with relevant levels, branches and units to remove difficulties in order to promote development projects according to approved plans.

The Department of Industry and Trade leader said that the total power sources approved in the Power Plan VIII and adjusted Power Plan VIII in Quang Ngai province (new) have a total capacity of 6,852.1 MW.

Of which, the gas-fired power plant has a total capacity of 2,250 MW; the hydroelectric plant has a total capacity of 1,965.1 MW; the pumped-storage hydroelectric plant has a capacity of 300 MW; and the surplus gas thermal power plant has a capacity of 300 MW.

Concentrated solar power has a total capacity of 802 MW; rooftop solar power has a total capacity of 231 MW; onshore wind power has a total capacity of 884 MW; biomass power has a total capacity of 105 MW and waste power has a capacity of 15 MW.
