Located in Hoa Lien commune (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city), Da Nang concentrated information technology park is invested by Da Nang Information Technology Park Development Joint Stock Company.
The project was expected to develop according to the US Silicon Valley model, and become one of the best information technology development communities in Asia in Da Nang.
The project has a total area of 341 hectares, with a total investment of 2,744 billion VND. Of which, phase 1 is 131 hectares (completed and ready to serve investors), phase 2 is 210 hectares, expected to be built within 5 years (from 2020 - 2025).
However, according to the reporter's records, the concentrated information technology park in Da Nang is currently quite deserted and desolate.
Some project routes have become grazing grounds for cows, overgrown with weeds.
The investor is also constructing a specialist area in addition to investing in, constructing and operating synchronous technical infrastructure.
However, the villas built to accommodate experts are unfinished and overgrown with grass.
Infrastructure such as parks and sports fields at the project were also built but also fell into disuse.
Some construction projects are in a state of unfinished construction, and construction machinery is also "shelved".
Some items of the project have fallen into disrepair and show signs of deterioration.
According to research, phase 2 of the Da Nang IT park project is also facing problems and the "scope" to solve them is not within the locality's control.
Da Nang has proposed that the central government consider and agree to allow the city to continue implementing related procedures based on the project's existing legal basis (the granted investment certificate) on the basis of reviewing financial obligations to ensure no loss of state budget revenue.
