Proposed shape of square and park along To Lich river
After the water supply phase for To Lich River, Hanoi City will carry out a project to renovate, embellish, and rebuild parks and squares on both sides of the river into green spaces to serve the people.

At the end of 2024, Hanoi City will implement a project to replenish water and improve the environment of To Lich River. In phase 1 of the project, the water source to "revive" To Lich River will be taken from West Lake and Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Last September, the project to replenish water for the To Lich River was completed. After more than a month of water replenishment, the To Lich River has gradually "revived".
After the water supply phase, Hanoi City began the process of implementing the project to renovate both sides of the river, turning this place into a green space to serve the people.
According to Hanoi City's calculations, to implement the project of renovating, embellishing and reconstructing the park on both sides of To Lich River, a total preliminary investment of more than 4,665 billion VND is needed.
The total planned area for the project to renovate both banks of the To Lich River is nearly 738,000 m2.
The project is expected to build a road and yard category, including: road, sidewalk and square, retaining wall, riverside walkway, step system, steps, ramps, curbs, tree beds, parking lot, sports field, playground, pedestrian path.
On both sides of the To Lich River, there are also architectural works, including: service works, highlight works and auxiliary works.
Hanoi City plans to implement a project to renovate and beautify both sides of the To Lich River in the 2025 - 2027 period.
Hanoi People's Committee proposed a type of build-transfer contract (BT contract) paid by land fund.
The project is expected to contribute to improving the environment, expanding public spaces and creating urban cultural highlights. However, along with opportunities, the project also poses high requirements for planning, management and ways to preserve sustainable values.
The project is located along To Lich River, passing through 12 wards: Ngoc Ha, Nghia Do, Lang, Giang Vo, Cau Giay, Yen Hoa, Thanh Xuan, Dong Da, Khuong Dinh, Dinh Cong, Thanh Liet, Hoang Liet.
