Close-up of To Lich River 'transforming' after being supplemented with a second water source

The project to "revive" the flow of To Lich is underway and has shown positive signs. Recently, the first dam on To Lich River (located near the downstream) was supplied with 230,000m3 of water meeting standards from Yen Xa Plant, creating a flow and maintaining a stable elevation of +3.5m. On September 24, the dam area was put into operation and continued to complete the ground on both banks.

From above, the color of the water flow changes clearly in this area. Currently, the gate of Thanh Liet water regulation station is closed, pushing clean water to the river branch passing through lane 250 Phan Trong Tue street.

Near the dam area, the water surface of To Lich River changes significantly even though this is the area near the downstream.

In the river area running through Nguyen Khang Street, oxygen generators have been put into operation in recent days. The water in this area is also clear and blue. Environmental workers are constantly working, improving the landscape, collecting waste on the water surface or in the sewer areas.

However, the water surface is darker in the section of Giap Nhat - Nga Tu So - Vuong Thua Vu.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen's shop is located next to the To Lich River (near Nga Tu So). "In the first days when West Lake water was just replenished, the water surface in this area was clear and blue, full, and the stench also disappeared. However, about 3 days later, the water surface started to turn black again," she said.

According to Ms. Tuyen, the weather has been sunny these past few days, so the stench has started to increase.

When viewed from above, the water surface of this area is dark. At the foot of the bridges across the river, garbage accumulates and the water surface bubbles with air.

At the upstream area on Hoang Quoc Viet Street, two water pipes supplementing from West Lake were not operating on September 24.

The To Lich River flowing through here has turned dark again.

This is an area with completed landscaping. Both banks are covered with lush green reeds and very little rubbish on the river surface.

At this time, it can be seen that the water level of To Lich River is currently much higher than the same period every year. Although there are still many difficulties, the "revival" project is gradually being completed step by step and bringing many positive signals.
