Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem: 'Quang Hai is so excellent'

Sharing after Hai Phong Club's 1-2 loss to Cong An Hanoi in round 6 of V-League 2025 - 2026, head coach Chu Dinh Nghiem expressed his admiration.

"The Public Security Club won because they were better. We also tried our best and scored a goal to shorten the score at the end of the match," Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem shared.

Talking about the turning point of the match, where Nguyen Quang Hai shone with a long-range shot in the 64th minute to help Hanoi Police open the victory, Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem did not hesitate to praise his former student whom he trained at Hanoi Club.

"Quang Hai is excellent. He is a player for big matches. In normal matches, Hai may not score, but in important matches, he is always ready to shine.

When he moved to the Hanoi Police Club, Quang Hai was the one who controlled the rhythm and controlled the play. Although he played low, his passes were very sharp. In Hai's goal, my two central defenders, Nhat Minh and Tien Dung, did their best," Mr. Nghiem told Tuoi Tre Online .

Quang Hai was coach Chu Dinh Nghiem's favorite student for 6 seasons at Hanoi FC (from 2017 to 2022). Under the guidance of Mr. Nghiem, Quang Hai rose to become a big star in V-League.

After a trip abroad to France, Quang Hai returned and joined Hanoi Police Club from 2023.

Here, although his playing style has changed and he is no longer as explosive as before, the player born in 1997 still maintains his influence and position in Vietnamese football. He is the captain of the Hanoi Police Club and still has a place to play for the Vietnamese national team in major tournaments.

"This was a difficult match for both clubs. We focused and did not give up, so we scored. Hanoi Police Club maintained control and took advantage of opportunities in the final stages. This victory gives me and my teammates more motivation to fight in the upcoming battles," Quang Hai said.
