How many days off do students nationwide get for September 2nd holiday?

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just issued instructions on the 2025 National Day holiday to the Departments of Culture and Social Affairs of wards, communes and affiliated schools.

Accordingly, officials, civil servants, and employees of the Department of Education and Training as well as preschool, primary, secondary and high school students, vocational education and continuing education centers, secondary schools, and Hanoi Education Staff Training Schools will have a holiday from August 30 (Saturday) to September 2 (Tuesday).

"For units that do not have a fixed schedule for Saturdays and Sundays every week, there will be a basis for the actual situation of the unit to arrange a suitable schedule," the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced.

Hanoi students have 4 consecutive days off for National Day.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires that during the holiday, schools take measures to ensure safety of facilities, equipment, and fire prevention. They should also educate students to practice civilized lifestyles and maintain social order and safety.

After the holidays, units need to immediately stabilize order and ensure activities according to plan.

At this time, private schools in Hanoi have welcomed students back to school. Some public schools have also allowed first-grade students to receive classes, buy uniforms, and prepare textbooks for the new school year 2025-2026.

Previously, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced that on the occasion of National Day, September 2, officials, civil servants, public employees and workers will have a 4-day holiday, from August 30 to September 2. Agencies and units that do not have a fixed schedule of Saturday and Sunday every week will base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange a suitable holiday schedule, in accordance with the provisions of law.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the schedule of holidays and Tet holidays in the year is according to the State's regulations. Therefore, students at all levels also have 4 days off for September 2. In case schools organize classes on Saturday (middle school, high school), they will proactively adjust the schedule based on the specific situation and conditions of each unit and educational institution.

Thus, before students enter the opening ceremony of the new school year 2025-2026, they will have a long vacation to go out and rest.

It is expected that the opening ceremony of the new school year will take place simultaneously for all schools nationwide from kindergarten, primary, secondary and high school levels on September 5.
