Students in Da Nang city will be off school on the afternoon of October 22 and October 23.

DNO - On the morning of October 22, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang issued Official Dispatch No. 1817/SGDĐT-VP to the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones; schools and centers under the Department; vocational training institutions; universities and private universities in the city regarding students being off school due to storm No. 12.

The Department of Education and Training requested heads of units and schools to notify preschool children, students, and trainees across the city to have a day off on Wednesday afternoon (October 22) and all day Thursday (October 23).

Educational institutions with boarding organizations decide the time (specific hours) and promptly notify parents to pick up their children (possibly after lunch); assign teachers and management staff to take care of preschool children and students when parents have not yet arrived to pick them up.

Boarding and semi-boarding schools for ethnic minorities must strengthen management and care for students; do not let students go home without ensuring safety conditions.

Private universities and vocational training institutions shall proactively decide on students' attendance based on actual situations.

The Department of Education and Training requests units and schools to seriously implement the directives and instructions of the City People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training and localities on disaster prevention and control.

Regularly update information on storm and heavy rain developments; maintain communication through multiple channels to inform students, parents, teachers, and employees at the unit to proactively respond safely.

When an incident or problem arises (before, during and after the storm), promptly report to the department and local leaders for handling instructions.

Proactively and promptly organize cleaning and sanitizing schools and classrooms after the storm, when the water recedes and the rain stops so that preschool children, students, and trainees can return to school soon.
